WILLIS,EDWARD PARKEREdward Parker Willis marriage certificate shows Bedford
Va as his birthplace. I have not been able to verify this.
He married Margaret Ann Beverly July 27, 1882 Amherst, Va.
About 1887, the Beverly & Willis Families migrated to
Harrison & Marion Counies, WVa. I am seeking any
information regarding his parents or siblings. I will share
what I have.
BLACKBURN, TIMMINS, MEGRIFFSearching for the date and place of death for John Henry
BLACKBURN and Eliza Tennessee TIMMINS. JH and Eliza are
listed in the 1900 Giles Co. Census with five MEGRIFF
grandchildren (Henry, Lu C., Ethel, Charles and Blanchie).
JH and Eliza were from Coffee Co., TN. In 1880, JH and Eliza
are in Bedford Co. Any information on this family
appreciated.
PHILLIPSSeeking info on a SOLOMON PHILLIPS who is listed in the
1840 Bedford Co. census. Lived next to a Benjamin Phillips,
b. 1803. Location is the Rich Valley Area. SOLOMON is not in
the 1830 or 1850 census. His age was about 70. he prob died
before 1850 census. Maybe the father of BENJAMIN PHILLIPS.
BENJAMIN was botn in NC and married Jane Elizabeth Holt
Higgenbotham.
BELTBELT Lazarus, received a land grant in Bedford County in
1828. I do not know anything more about Lazarus other than
that he appears in the 1840 & 1850 census for Macon
County, but disappears after that. I believe his father was
a Benjamin Belt of Iredell County, NC. He was married to a
Jane, last name unknown. He had at least three children:
William Henry, Amanda, and Samuel. Does anyone have any

GALLEGLYBill Gallegly My fathers lineage is in Tennessee. His
Great Grandfather Elias Hamilton GALLEGLY was born in
Wartrace and lived in the area all his life. His farm is
located on straigt Creek so far from the Kellertown
Community. My question is does anyone know or have a map of
the area that would diclose the location of his farm back in
the middle of the 1800's. He was born in 1833 and died in
1917.He and his wife are buried in Fairfield at the New Hope
Baptist Church enclosed in a metal wrought iron fence. Any

Nathan PRINCE b. 1788 d. bef 1850. These four shows up in
Bell Buckle dist 1812 Tax Record. Nathan PRINCE mar Rachel
RAY in Warren Co. KY. 1806 One of these brothers is the
father of my 3G grandfather Isaac PRINCE b. March 1824.
Isaac had a brother named Asa born 1826. DEAN / DEEN of
Bedford Co. looking for father of Sarah Dean b. 1827, she
married Isaac PRINCE abt 1847 probally Bedford. Sarah's
mother was Mary ? DEAN, father was John DEAN. John DEAN died
before 1870. Nathan PRINCE had Property that bordered John
DEAN. I need proof that Nathan PRINCE was Isaac's father and
John DEAN was Sarah's father or Mary DEAN's husband. I
believe this family of DEAN and PRINCE stayed in Bedford Co.
TN. until their death. Your help would be greatly

CATES,NEALI am searching for the parents of Hiram CATES, he was
born Sept. 12, 1914 in Shelbyville, Bedford Co., TN. He
married Mary Caroline NEAL, she was born in TN in 1824, but
I do not know if they were married in TN. I do know that
Hiram had a brother Pleasant Poke CATES. Any information

JENKINS, RANSOMMy ggrandfather, Nim. S. JENKINS (b. circa 1852)married
Addie Mae RANSOM on 3 Sept 1872 in Bedford County, TN. They
had three children, according to my grandfather's bible.
They were Walter Ransom (my grandfather), James W. and Annie
Mae. Our bible says the parents died in an epidemic when the
children were young. They were separated, went to live with
relatives (?) and never saw each other again. Any help in
tracing deaths, who they went to live with, etc. would be
helpful. Bible says Nim's parents were Hiram and Nancy but I
have yet to verify that.

MELTONRequesting info on my gggrandfather, Riley M. Melton,
supposedly born in Bedford County about 1822 or 1823 to John
Melton and Nancy Kilburn. John is possibly the son of Philip
Melton from SC. Riley did serve in the Civil War and I have
that info, but I just can't get beyond him because of
insufficient info. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
PHILIPSI am looking for the ancestors of Laban PHILIPS (usually
spelled with one "l"). His daughter, Mary Ann, married
Joseph Birdwell and they became my GG Grandparents.
According to the census, he was born in SC somewhere between
1783-1791 and he died in Johnson Co. IL in 1879. The 1820
census of Chetham county NC lists many PHILIPS' including a
Laban PHILIPS. I understand that there was another Laban
PHILIPS about that time that never left North Carolina so
I'm not sure who's who. He later moved to Bedford Co., TN
where my GG Grandmother was born in 1823. The 1830 census
lists a Laban PHILIPS in Bedford County and he's in the 1840
census of Marshall County AL. In the late 1840's he and his
family moved with his daughter and son-in-law to Johnson
County Illinois where he died in November 11, 1879 .Laban
married a woman named Rebbeca (1794 - 10 Sept. 1879). No one
is exactly sure of her maiden name but it may be Garret or
Garrison or Gavis. Census records state that she was born in
SC.

H. IRWIN listed in the Cemetary Records of Bedford .

newspaper published in Sheblyville around 1840. This paper
was owned by John Wesley WHITE. He was born in August, 1813
possibly in Shelbyville. He had at least one son, Jamed
