This is addition to the previous posting; the Cliffords, Westerman, and Prices came from Pulaski Co., KY ca 1820 as they are on the census of Bedford Co. My ggGrandmother's head stone is listed as, "Martha M. Nowell Booth came from Shelbyville, TN b.1817 - d.1895". She married John S. Booth in about 1839. BOSWORTH

The 1860 TN census index shows an S.H. BOSWORTH (age 18, female) and an M.F. BOSWORTH (age 16, female) on Page 27 in Bedford County. I have not seen this census page but would sure appreciate a lookup to see where they were born and any more about them. I would like to find more about the family of my gg grandfather Bryan DOUGLAS, b abt 1811 in TN. His wife's name was Mary ? b, abt 1810. They had seven children: Thomas, James, John, Edith, Peter, Nancy, and Henderson. I am attempting to find Mary's surname. I found him on the 1850 Census of the 1st Civil District of Coffee County. My great grandfather: DOUGLAS, Henderson, b May 1847 in Beech Grove, Tennessee m. HENLEY

James B. Henley was born in 1854 in Bedford Co.TN. He married Susan. (maiden name unclear in the marrige records of Bedford Co.) James and Susan had at least three children. I am researching a WILLIAM MARTIN (1776-1854) who was a Baptist preacher and came to Bedford Co. in 1817 from the border area of Rutherford (now Cleveland) Co. NC & Union/York (now Cherokee) Co. SC. LLOYD

Howell LLOYD emigrated from Wales in early l800's as a single young man. Age? Who and when he married is not known. He had at least one son, James Daniel LLOYD, b. l846 near Shelbyville, Bedford Co., TN. Desire to know if Howell and wife had other children, and anything about his wife. Have no dates on him at all. The son, James, as a young man, went to Independence Co., AR. Did he go alone or did Howell go with him? Or, did Howell stay in TN? James settled in Batesville, Independence Co., AR. Probably met his wife, Martha Jane GREEN, b. l847, AL., in Batesville. They married Aug. l7, l870 in Batesville. Would like to know if Howell LLOYD came to America alone or with other family. THOMAS MAXWELL, SR. resided in Bedford Co. when the county was created--Clem's Creek/Rover, TN. His son, SOLOMON MAXWELL,left Bedford Co. after 1830 for Randolph Co. WATSON, LOCKE, BODENHAMER

Beverly B. WATSON born about 1800 in VA married Sally LOCK on February 8, 1819; place unknown, but probably Bedford or Giles County, TN. Beverly was the son of Robert WATSON. Sally was the daughter of Alexander and Ann LOCK. After the death of Alexander, his widow Ann married William BODENHAMER. By the 1830's Beverly and Sally were living in Dyer and Gibson County, TN area. Beverly had at least three brothers; William WATSON b. 1805, John Peddeway WATSON b. 1809, and Richard R. WATSON b. 1815. The father, Robert WATSON may have had a brother William WATSON living in Bedford and Giles County. NEILL

I am searching for descendents of John Lambert NEILL (1790-1876) and his wife Sally Clay MARTIN (1798-1879). They lived between Bellbuckle and Beech Grove. They lost two sons in the 23rd TN INF. CSA but their other son James Falls NEILL had one daughter and four sons before being killed by a horse on January 1, 1870. Some married names of their daughters are SEARCY, PARRISH, SMITH,TOON and HUGHES. The site of the NEILL family cemetery has recently been located.

William Stafford TAYLOR may have come from Perquimans County, NC to TN before 1827. He married Nancy TAYLOR in 1827 in Williamson County. They lived in Bedford County and were members of Enon Primitive Baptist Church in Unionville. Their daughter, Margaret Jane, married John Wheeler NICHOLS, son of Jackson and Nancy WHEELER NICHOLS. SMITH

I'm looking for James SMITH's ancestors. James Smith was born in TN in 1806 in Bedford County. James married Sarah C. Kinyon and with the Kinyon's moved to southern IL to Washington Co. The Smith's and the Kinyon's are linked through intermarrying beginning in the 1700's. The Kinyon's were originally from NC and there Joseph Kinyon married a Sarah SMITH. They settled in Bedford Co., TN, for a while before some members of the Kinyon's and Smith's moved on to Washington Co., IL.
