Obituary - "William R. Akers died at his home April 27 of kidney trouble and paralysis of the bowels, age 69 years.

He had been in bad health some time, but the end came sooner than was expected. He was buried at

Crooked Creek Cemetery Wednesday, Rev. C.B. Clayton preaching his funeral. Mr. Akers had lived a

consistent Christian nearly all his life, and had many friends. He leaves a widow and six children, three

Obituary - "Funeral services for A. Clint Berry, 76, who died at his home in Paris Monday were conducted at 2 p.m.

Tuesday at McEvoy Funeral Home. The Rev. W.W. Phillips and the Rev. John D. Lunden will officiate.

Masonic rites were held at the graveside at Crooked Creek Cemetery near Faxon. Mr. Berry was a

member of the Methodist Church and the New Portland Masonic Lodge for more than 50 years. He was a

retired L&N railroad section foreman. He is survived by his widow, the former Miss Cora Ellis; two

daughters, Mrs. Tessie Wade and Mrs. Virginia Enoch, both of Detroit, Mich.; three sons, Henry Berry,

Paris, W.L. Berry, Memphis, and Rodney Berry of California; 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren."

was 81. She was a former resident of Paris but for the past 12 years had made her home with a daughter in

Memphis. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at McEvoy Chapel. Burial will be in

Crooked Creek Cemetery in Benton County. McEvoy Funeral Home will be in charge of all

arrangements. The body is at the funeral home. Born March 11, 1885 in Stewart County, she was the

daughter of the late George Ellis. She was married in 1902 to A.C. Berry and he preceded her in death

February 14, 1954. She was a member of Calvary Methodist Church. Survivors include two daughters,

Mrs. Reuben Wade, Detroit, and Mrs. Ollie Enoch, Memphis; two sons, Rodney Berry, San Diego, Calif.

Obituary - The community was shocked by the death of R.P. Berry, which occurred at 1 p.m. Monday, after an illness

of nearly two weeks. He had just returned home from Huntingdon where he had been in school the past

year, graduating there in the scientific course with the honor of class valedictorian. He was ill when he

arrived here, and was never able to leave his bed. Mr. Berry was a young man of high aspirations, and had

a bright future before him. He was a member of the Masonic fraternity, had served as magistrate and was

indeed a good and useful citizen. The remains were given burial at Crooked Creek Tuesday with Masonic
