Robert A. (Bobby) Bell, age 59 of Big
Sandy, Tn died October 2, 1994 at Jackson-Madison County
Gen'l Hosp. Jackson, Tn. Funeral held Wednesday October
5, 1994 at Stockdale-Malin Chapel in Big Sandy, Tn. with
Bro. Ray Forrest officiating.
Burial was in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery,
Big Sandy. Robert Bell was born July 5, 1935 in Faxon,
Tn. His father Henry Nolan Wyatt, mother Nina Pearl Bell
McKenzie, and stepfather Gerald David McKenzie preceded
him in death. Survivors were his wife Irma Deanna Berry
Bell, stepmother Elsie Wyatt of Michigan, 4 sons Stephen
Gene, Southgate, Mi, Harvey A., Big Sandy, Tn, Bryan K.
Bell, El Paso, Tx, Larry 0. Bell, Big Sandy, Tn, one
stepson Timothy A. Baker, Big Sandy, one-half sister
Betty Wyatt, Michigan, 5 half-brothers Willard McKenzie,
Big Sandy, Tn. Charles Wyatt, and Neal Wyatt, Leon Wyatt
and Bill Wyatt, all of Michigan 4 grandchildren, 7
step-grandchildren and one great grandchild. Mr. Bell was
a retired machinist for Conrad Railroad, veteran of U.S.
Marine Corps, member of New Beginnings Church and member
of the Masonic Lodge in Big Sandy, Tn.

NOBLES
Elizabeth Luville "Lou"
Nobles age 92, died Oct. 15, 1994 in Paris, Tn. Funeral
held Oct. 18, 1994 at LeDon Chapel with Bro. Jerry Masey,
Buck Morton and Charles Orr officiating. Burial was in
Hillcrest Cemetery, Paris, Tn. Elizabeth Nobles was born
July 21, 1902 Big Sandy, Tn. She married Jesse Sherman
Nobles on Dec.22, 1924 and he died July 17, 1971. Also
preceded in death by her father Jesse Park Andrews,
mother Susan Bell Zora Andrews, twin sister Martha
Lucille Sexton, and 4 brothers Jesse Andrews, Victor
Andrews, Hubert Andrews and Russell Andrews.
Survivors 2 daugs Joyce Cook, Paris,
In, Carolyn Hicks and one sister-in-law Marie Andrews, 2
grandsons David Hicks, Paris, Tn. and Gregory Hicks. 2
granddaughters Leslie Hicks and Suzanne Greer Wynn.
Mrs. Nobles was member of Fairview
Baptist Church in Paris and also member of Martha Chapter
No. 155 Order of Eastern Start.

McCAMPBELL
Paul Samuel McCampbell, age 71 of Big
Sandy, Tn. died Wednesday, November 25, 1992 in the
Jackson-Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, Tn.
Funeral was held Nov.27, 1992 at the Baptist Church in
Big Sandy with Brother Bill Holbrook officiating. Burial
was in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery-Stockdale Malin in
charge of services.
Paul Samuel McCampbell was born
Aug.22, 1921 in Benton County, Tn. He was preceded in
death by his parents James Rufus and Lillie Fay Dortch
McCampbell; 2 brothers, Victor and Nelson McCampell, 2
sisters Mable Hutchison and Delia Mae Robins.
Mr. McCampbell survived by wife
Rebecca Garner McCampbell, 2 daus. Paulette Cole of
Nashville, Tn and Jeanette Coulter of Hendersonville Tn,
2 sisters Evelyn VanHuss and Dathel Louise Wynn both of
Big Sandy, Tn, 2 grandchildren Jeffrey Daryl Cole of
Nashville and Bradley Shane Coulter of Hendersonville,
Tn, one gr. grandson, Warren Darryl Cole of Nashville,
Tn.
Mr. McCampbell was a retired heavy
equipment operator for TVA, member of the Big Sandy
Baptist Church, Chairman of Deacons, World War II
Veteran, an Alderman for the City of Big Sandy, Tn. and a
former Mayor of Big Sandy, Tn.

ANDREWS
Russell Hicks Andrews, age 84 of
Paris, Tn. died May 7, 1992 in Paris, Tn.
Funeral was held at LeDon Chapel, May
9, 1992 with Roger Wallace officiating. Burial was in
Memorial Cemetery in Paris, Tn with Ridgeway Morticians
in charge. Russell Hicks Andrews was born Dec. 2, 1907 in
Big Sandy, Tn. His parents, Jessie Park Andrews and Susan
Belle Zora Hicks (daughter of Abraham Jackson Hicks and
3rd wife Martha Jane Melton) all preceded Russell in
death. Survivors include his wife Letha Andrews, one
sister Luville Nobles, 2 nieces Joyce Cook and Carolyn
Hicks, One nephew Richard Andrews. Mr Russell Andrews was
a Retired Minister.

ANDREWS
Virlie M. Andrews, age 92, Paris, Tn.
formerly of 28 Oak St. Big Sandy, Tn. died April 13, 1993
Henry County Nursing Home in Paris, Tn. Services held at
Stockdale-Malin Chapel in Big Sandy, Tn. with Brother
Bill Holbrook officiating. Verlie M. Andrews was born
Aug.11, 1900 in Carroll County, Tn. Her parents were
Horace Provow and Luzaine Provow who preceded her in
death. Her first husband was Hubert Andrews, 2nd Raymond
Andrews who also died before her. Survivors include one
son, James Richard Andrews, Westminister, California, 2
sister-in-laws Marie Andrews, Paris, Tn, 2 nieces Joyce
Cook and Carolyn Hicks(daughter of EIiz. and Jesse
Sherman Nobles) from Paris, Tn., 2 grand and 4 great
grandchildren. Virlie Andrews of a homemaker and member
of the First Baptist Church, Big Sandy, Tn.

ARNOLD
Rubye Gay Arnold, age 82 of Camden,
Tn. died April 14, 1993 at Valley Regional Hosp. in
Camden, Tn.
Funeral held April 14, 1993 at
Stockdale-Malin chapel with Bro. Harold Carver
officiating. Burial was in Crossroads Cemetery with
Stockdale in charge. Rubye Gay Arnold was born Feb.27,
1911 in Benton County, Tn. Her parents Luther Jones and
Peral (Pearl ?) Jones preceded her in death. Husband
Vernon Arnold died in Oct. 7, 1988. 2 sisters, Lois
Cowell and Mavis Kinnard preceded her in death. Survivors
are 1 dau. Laverne McKelvy, Camden, Tn. 1 son Fred
Arnold, 1 brother Leaburn Jones, both of Camden, Tn. 9
grandchildren and 10 gr grandchildren. Mrs. Arnold
homemaker and member of Crosswoods Baptist Church.

COWELL
Woodrow Wilson Cowell, age 76 of
Camden, Tn. died April 16, 1993 at St. Thomas Hospital in
Nashville, Tn. Funeral held April 18, 1993 at
Stockdale-Malin chapel with Bro. Lloyd Doyle officiating.
Burial was in Cowell's Chapel Cemetery. Woodrow Willson
Cowell was born Dec.21, 1916 Davidson County, Tn. His
parents William Luther Cowell and Hettie Chester Cowell
preceded him in death. 2 brothers Paul and James also.
Survivors include wife Hattie (Hettie ?) B. Cain Coswell,
2 daus Deborah Douglas, Cathy Odle, both of Camden, Tn.
and 3 grandchildren. Woodrow Wilson was a retired coal
tower foreman for TVA, WWII Army Veteran, member of
Cowell's Chapel Methodist Church, Mason, Shriner and
Order of the Eastern Star Scottish Rite.

Lemuel Herrin
The Tennessee Baptist published at
Nashville,Tn on Saturday,October 16 1852 has the
following:
Rev. Lemuel Herrin
died at his residence in Panola County Texas at 3 o'clock
pm Aug,25,1852 of bilous cholic, The Rev. Lemuel
Herrin--an old resident of this County , and originally
from Henry County Tn. He was a Baptist Minister of great
worth and respectability; and a better or purer man never
lived--never died and all who knew him knew him but to
love him.
Father Herrin lived on earth 98
years,and died leaving no enemies behind him;borne upon
the Angel wing of love to Heaven
Rev. Lemuel Herrin was a Preacher
at the Rushing Creek Baptist Church

"While the obituary on Rev.
Lemuel Herrin published in The Tennessee Baptist in
1852 gave his age as 98 years, on February 26, 1853
The Tennessee Baptist published a Tribute of Respect
which included the fact that he died on the 25th of
August, 1852 at his residence in Panola (Co.) Texas
at the age of about 66 years. The 1850 census of
Panola County, TX lists his age as 63."
