Martha E. Denton
Probate, February 29, 1904
It appearing to the court that Martha E. Denton, late of
Bradley County, Tennessee, departed this life testate Feb. 19, 1904, in
said county and State and came into open court S. V. Bates,
brother of said
decedent, and the person named as the Executor thereof, and presented
to
the court a paper writing purporting to be the last will and testament
of
the said Martha E. Denton, deceased, and asked that the same be
admitted
to probabte and recored as the Inst will and testament of the said Martha
E. Denton, deceased; and came along with him H. Hambright one
of the
attesting witnesses to said paper wiritng, Mary Ratcliff, the
attesting
witness, who has since the execution of said paper writing departed
this
life, and her testimony therefore cannot be had, and the said H.
Hambright
being first duly sworn deposed and siat that she was present with the
other
attesting witness when the said Martha E. Denton signed said
paper
writing as and for her last will and testament; that she signed the
name
in her presence, and that both the attesting witnesses signed the name
in
the presence of the testatrix and at her request and in the presence of
each
other as attesting witnesses, and that the testatrix was at the time of
sound
mind and memory. It is therefore ordered by the court that said paper
writing
is as it purports to be, the last will and testament of the said Martha
E Denton, deceased, and the Clerk is ordered to enter the name of
record
in the will book of this court, together, with this probate.
