Seeking descendants of Thomas Meredith WALL and Elizabeth Hardaway SHORT. Thomas b. Aug 6, 1778 in Dinwiddle Co, VA and d. in Mecklenburg Co, VA Aug 12, 1813. Elizabeth b. Mar 5, 1781 in Mecklenburg Co, VA and d. in Carroll Co TN on Sep 2, 1857. They were married Jan 13, 1797 in Mecklenburg Co, VA. About 1840 Elizabeth moved the family from VA to Carroll Co, TN. It is thought that she was following other WALL family already in Carroll Co, TN. Some time after that the youngest son, Thomas Meredith Thweatt Wall b. Dec 12, 1812 d. Oct 2, 1890, moved back to Warren Co, TN which became DeKalb Co, TN. There he met and married Elizabeth Clack. Seeking in Madison Co [Spring Creek] area for my GRAY ancesters. They were in Madison, Carroll , and Gibson Co. Ephriam GRAY married Artelia. They were in Carroll Co in 1860 census. Their son was my gr. gr. grandfather, Bazdell GRAY was father of Sam Edgar GRAY who m. Florence Malinda JOHNS. At one time they were in the Spring Creek area. Carroll County, TN. My grandmother, Lyda Florence McMACKINS was b. in Buena Vista TN June 22, 1881. One of her sisters, Jewell, was b. March 22, 1884, county unknown. Their father was Frank McMACKINS and their mother was Martha ELDNER, spelling is probably incorrect. I cannot find any of these people on any census in TN. Lyda was suppose to be half blooded Indian, tribe unknown. Her mother, Martha was probably the full blooded Indian. Is this the reason why they do not show up on the census? I would appreciate any information on these people. It's almost like they really didn't exist.

I'm looking for information on an Andrew KEY b. in Carroll Co September 25, 1801. He m. Susanna FIELDS in 1821 and moved his family to Indiana in 1829. His children are as follows: Parry: b. Feb. 9, 1822; Larkin: b. Jun 12, 1824; Eley, b. Aug 2, 1826; John, b. Feb 6, 1829; Liddia, b. Feb 7, 1830; Hesikiah, b. Jun 4, 1848. Andrew's parents were said to have been - John Walter KEY and Nancy SMITH. John was said to be b. in Bedford Co., WVA in 1778, and he moved to TN in 1798. He married Nancy in 1800.
