Supposedly, Nancy A. Sutton married John HURDT on March 12, 1882 in Carter, County, TN. Her parents, John & Mary SUTTON were living in Tennessee during 1873 through 1876, the two years when Nancy's youngest siblings (Shepey W. & Minney V. SUTTON) were born in Tennessee. I can't find any census material for them in Tennessee in 1880. Any ideas?

I am looking for any information about Susie Valaria WRIGHT or Susie Valaria HILL Wright who was born in TN and I believe her parents were born in TN also. She married Walter Andrew Lester around 1897 and they lived in Texas. She died in childbirth to her daughter Valaria who left home around 16-18 and never returned home. The story goes that she was from a well to do family and they were not happy when she left TN and married Walter. As it turns out, they were correct. Walter was a very mean person to his wife, his children, and his animals. He was killed in 1923 by a mule/horse that kicked him in the stomach.

I am trying to find a Timothy and Eliza Twigg family that was in Carter Co., Tennessee in 1860 - 1880. Any one know what happened to them or where I can look? My great grand mother married a William Twiggs who mentioned on marriage records that his parents were Timothy and Eliza from North Carolina but William was born in Carter Co., Tennessee about 1873. I found one census record for them with William in 1880 but then seemed to have disappeared. Some time later William ended up in West Virginia and don't know where his siblings or parents went. I am at a dead end.

Looking for info on GGG Grandfather William THOMPSON and his wife Winnie THOMPSON. William was killed in 1863 by a band of confederate rebel robbers while he was on a break from scouting for the Union in the mountains. Searching for proof of kinship between William and Larkin Thompson--they were neighbors on the 1850 federal census, and William is listed on Carter County bond as an Admin of Larkin's estate when Larkin died in 1852. I suspect William was Larkin's eldest son--or a nephew?--but have no proof. Have not been able to locate birth or marriage records for William or Winnie and no birth records for any of their children. No obits or anything other than the 1850 and 1860 federal censuses.
