The Tennessee Civil War
Bibliography Page

We list here books that fall into four major categories. First are books like Tennesseans in the Civil War which will contain list of names. These are the first step in finding that elusive Civil War ancestor. Then comes books on the history of the Tennessee Army. Following that are books with Tennessee Unit histories and individual battles. And finally are general information books that apply to the Tennessee Armies and beyond.

If you live in Tennessee, your local library is a good starting place for research. The Tennessee State Library & Archives in Nashville is excellent and very user friendly. Tennessee Universities are know for their extensive collections.
