Lafayette Monday was born
Sept.18,1843 in Claiborne Co., TN. and died June 4, 1915
in Claiborne Co., TN. The son of Samuel Monday & Deliah
Rogers, he married Margaret Emily Harmon, January 22,
1863. She is the third child of Andrew Jackson & Belinda
Dictory Branscombe Harmon. She was born June 28, 1847 in
Claiborne Co.,TN and died May 1, 1927 in Claiborne Co.,
TN. They were blessed with 16 children, with only 9
surviving infancy. They raised their family in the
Speedwell area of Claiborne Co. Fate & Margaret along
with 11 of their children are buried in the
Shutters/Monday/Academy Cemetery.
