I have discovered my 3rdgrgrandparents buried in Kaserman Cemetery,
close to Belvidere. Samuel & Maria (Burkhalter) Kaserman, both born Switzerland, immigrated
to Tuscarawas Co, OH in 1841. Moved sometime after 1860 & I have just found them, with
their son John & his family in Franklin County, Can anyone give me additional info on this
family--did they farm? Is the cemetery in good condition? Would anyone be willing to take pics
of the graves? I understand there was a Swiss settlement in the area. Any information would be
appreciated.

My great-grandfather's
name was James Thomas STATUM. He was born Nov. 19, 1876 in Tennessee. I found him on
the 1880 Franklin Co., TN Census in the house hold of William GILLASPIE and Martha (Mary)
M. GILLASPIE. James Thomas STATUM is 4 yrs old and is listed as a Step (Grand) Son of
William GILLASPIE. This Martha (Mary) M. GILLASPIE on the 1880 census is Mary M.
TIPPS who married William STATUM Mar 30, 1854. He was killed in the Civil War so Mary M.
TIPPS STATUM married her neighbor William H. GILLASPIE on Jan 28, 1865 probably
because she had four children to feed. Unless the Census is wrong, one of William and Mary M.
TIPPS STATUM's children has to be James Thomas STATUM's

In the late 70's my grandfather and
great-aunt went to Winchester to visit some cousins. Jimmie Rhea STATUM and John Walter
"Jack" STATUM. I also heard of an Uncle John STATUM which would have to have been
John A. STATUM since he is Jack and Jimmie's father. Jack showed my grandfather some land
where the old home place was. He sold it and a store was on the property. My problem is that I
tried to trace Jimmie and Jack STATUM's line back, but as of now I can't connect them to
William and Mary M. TIPPS STATUM. Their father John A. STATUM is the son of Dean and
Elizabeth CUMMINGS STATUM. On the 1900 Franklin Co., TN Census it says that Dean
STATUM was born in 1854. Does anyone know about this line or how to contact their
descendants. Jason
