DANIEL ALLEN died in Giles County, Tennessee on 30 Jul 1834, leaving widow Alathea whom he had married 30 Mar 1787 or 8 in Washington County, Tennessee. She aplied for pension on 19 Aug 1851 in Lawrence County, Tennessee, and stated that her father was Richard HALE, and a third or fth cousin named Richard HALE was aged 75 in 1857 (born Jul 1776) and living in Washington County. Children named were Jinsey or Jane, Richard, Nancy, Agnes, and Lucinda M. LACEY. She declared that they lived in Sullivan County, Tennessee about eight to ten years after their marriage, and that her husband had come to Tennessee from Rockingham (Virginia? North Carolina?) Daniel ALLEN is on the 1812 Giles County, Tax List.

Brown: The petition of Alathea Allen, widow of Daniel Allen. of De Kalb county, in the State of Tennesseeheretofore presented December 31, 1840; "Also, the petition of John Everly, of Giles county, in the State of Tennesseeheretofore presented December 19, 1843.

Descendant of Ensign Daniel ALLEN, as follows: 1. George Etter (1833-1907) m. 1860 Clarinda Tennessee Lawder (1842-1911). 2. Matthew Lawder (1802-75) m. 1827 Allie Davidson (1809-87). 3. John Davidson m. Sarah Jane ALLEN. 4. Daniel ALLEN m. 1788 Alathea HALE (1772-1858). Daniel ALLEN served as ensign in Capt. William BETHEL's company, North Carolina Line. He was born in North Carolina; died, 1834, in Giles County, Tenn.

Wife of Benjamin W. Newman. Descendant of Ensign Daniel ALLEN, as follows: 1. Luther Rice Smith (b. 1846) m. 2nd 1875 Geneva Ann Etter (b. 1862). 2. George Etter (1833-1909) m. 1860 Clarinda Tennessee Lowder (1842-1911). 3. Matthew Lowder (1802-75) m. 1827 Alethea Davidson (1809-87). 4. John Davidson m. Sarah Jane ALLEN. 5. Daniel ALLEN m. 1788 Aletha HALE (1772-1858). Daniel ALLEN (1759-1834) served as ensign in Capt. William BETHEL's company, North Carolina Line. He was born in North Carolina; died in Giles County, Tenn. Also No. 111924.
