Alexander W. Campbell enlisted April 29, 1861, in Altamont.
He joined with the 1st Tennessee Infantry Co. A.
He was in the battles of Manassas, Richmond Va., Harpers Ferry, and Fredricksburg.
he is buried in Bonny Oaks Cemetery.
