Shepperd his wife have this day Bargaine and sold and do here By transfer and convey to W. T. Shepperd his heirs and assigns fore ever A certain tract or parcel of land lying in Henderson County Tennessee range 6 Section 8 containing one hundred and Twenty nine and 1/4 acars more arles for the consideration of Eight hundred dollars cash pade and Bounded as follows Beginning on a dogwood and hickery post the N. W. corner of A 33 1/3 acar tract of land belonging to W. T. Shepperd and on the east line of Pleasant Austans land thence South on Astans line and passing his corner in all 112 poles to A Blackoak Ironwood & walnut fens (?) thence East 181 8/9 poles to A stake thence North 112 poles to A stake thence west 181 8/9 poles to the beginning to have and to hold the same to said W. T. Shepperd his heirs and assigns forever We do covenant with the said W. T. Shepperd that we are lawfully seised of said land and have a good wright to convey it and the Same is unincumbered we further Bind ourselvs to warrant and defend the title to Said land against the lawful claims of all persons in testamony where of we have this day set our hands and affixed our Seal this January 29th 1879 ack Aug 12th79 W. Sheppard having personally appeared before me, and having, by virtue of the authority in me vested, been examined privately and apart from her said husband, and she having acknowledged the due execution of the annexed deed by her freely, voluntarily and understandingly, without compulsion or constraint by her said husband, and for the purposes therein contained, the same is therefore certified.
