Information obtained from obituaries from Lauderdale County Enterprise from 1898-1914, read by Bettie B. Davis. August 24, 1900-Flippin- Infant daughter of Dr. and Mrs. W. M. Brown died Saturday night and was buried in Cross Roads Cemetery. January 25, 1901-Mrs. Childress, wife of Mr. Bill Childress, died near Gates Sunday; was buried at Cross Roads. May 15, 1903- The infant child of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Rainey died Thursday: burial at Cross Roads. March 18, 1904- Eddie, 13 year-old daughter of Mrs. Sue Johnston died last Wednesday, buried at Cross Roads. March 18, 1904- A child of Mr. H. O. Hendren died at Curve Thursday of last week. From Genealogy- this is Buford Hendren born-5-19-1900, died 3-10-1904. March 4, 1904- Curve-Mrs. Allen Vincent's baby died Thursday of last week and was buried at Cross Roads Cemetery. February 3, 1911- A. L. Rainey died Monday night in Flippin. He was about 80 years old. The funeral was Tuesday at Cross Roads Cemetery. March 17, 1911- S. G. Rainey( from Genealogy- Samuel B.) aged 72 died in Tiptonville, Tn. Friday night. He was buried in Cross Roads Cemetery Saturday afternoon. June 2, 1911-Annie Lee Coffman, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. J.( actually Ernest Lovell), age 25, died. She was laid to rest in the family lot in Cross Roads Cemetery on the afternoon of May 26, 1911. (No death date given) April 19, 1912-A little son, 14 months old, of Mr. W. B. Travis, died last Wednesday and was laid to rest yesterday morning at Cross Roads Cemetery. February 28, 1913- F. M. Sutton died at his home in Curve Sunday night and was laid to rest in the cemetery at Cross Roads Tuesday afternoon. He was 62 years of age. June 27, 1913-Mr. James W. (Jim) Rainey died Thursday of last week in Curve. He was buried Friday at Cross Roads. He was about 75 years of age. August 1, 1913- Herbert Hendren, age 22 months, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ike Hendren, died Saturday and was buried at Cross Roads Sunday. March 27, 1914-Curve-Miss Mary Lou Hibbit died Saturday in Nashville, Tennessee. Her remains brought here for burial Sunday in Cross Roads Cemetery March 10, 1916 Infant of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Hendren was buried at Cross Roads Saturday. July 7, 1916- Mrs. Beulah Parker died Saturday afternoon and was laid to rest in Cross Roads Cemetery. July 21,1916- Curve column- An infant child of Mr. and Mrs. Smith Hendren was buried at Cross Roads cemetery Saturday morning |
