Pic #2: Kerr Hotel
kerr-hotel-then.jpg (38985 bytes)  The building our business is located in, is the old Kerr Hotel, located at the corners of North Military Ave and Depot Street. To the best of our knowledge, the building was built around 1821. Josephus Irvine was the original owner of the property, sold to William Tucker in 1829. Joseph & Mary Mezera purchased the hotel for $2,850.00 and changed the name to the Neelley Hotel. UH & Della Kerr of Hardin County bought the hotel in 1928, and operated it until 1946 when it was to WB & Myrtle Massey, and they called the the Carriage House. In the 1970’s the hotel was permanently closed due to a lack of business. The current owners are TJ and Sammie Hughes, who having done extensive repair and remodeling, currently operate their business, Prime Hospitality Group, there.
