I'm looking for any info on the family of Claude Burns RICHARDSON,
and Doris ORTON. I think Claude had a sister named Mae and their
father was John Thomas. Claude was born 21 Sept. 1897, died May 1969
in FL. In the '30's or '40's Claude had a candy shop in town. Anyone
remember it? Doris was born 2 June 1909, died Jan. 1985 in VA. Her
sister Della ORTON White died recently, in Oct. I don't know their
Papa's name but he lived in a little 2 room house on a creek outside
town and he was born 10 Aug. 1880-something. I think he was widowed
many years. He died in the mid-1970's at 90 or so years old. If you
have any info that could help fill in the blanks or lead me back
further in time, particularly on the RICHARDSON side, I would be
greatly appreciative. And does anyone know of a RICHARDSON cemetery,
maybe on the southside of town? Otherwise, know some are buried in
Etheridge and a couple of other places. Thanks so much!

My ancestors, Richard "Dick" (b ca 1846) and Permelia Angeline POWERS
(b. ca 1844) appear in the 1880 Lauderdale Co., Alabama census with
their large family. I have found no marriage records for them and no
proof of Angeline's maiden name, although, according to family
legend, it was either DOBBINS or CRABB. My grandmother told me long
ago that she thought they were from Lawrence Co., Tennessee and there
are DOBBINS and CRABB families living there in that time period. I
have been unable to connect them to any of the CRABB, DOBBINS or
POWERS families in 1830 - 1880 Lawrence Co. census. Angeline later
married Simpson KENNEDY in Lauderdale County AL in 1890 and in 1895
she left him and went to Arkansas. I do not have death dates for
Richard and am not sure if he died before Angeline remarried or if
they were divorced. Can you help? I'll appreciate any info at all!
