Am searching info. on my gggg grandparents: ALEXANDER MURPHY AND
SUSANNAH COLEMAN. They removed from Franklin Co., GA to Lawrence Co.,
TN in time for the 1820 Census. Don't know Alexander's ancestry, but
feel poss. from Caswell Co., NC. He died abt March 1840 in Lawrence
Co., TN. Found an estate sale dated ca April/May 1840, listing all
the buyers and the goods for sale. It mentions that he was part of a
business: Wortman and Murphy. I have found no other references to
this enterprise, and wonder if anyone might have some info. on early
businesses. SUSANNAH COLEMAN MURPHY was b. ca 1798 either GA or SC.
m 1813 in Franklin Co., GA to Alex. Murphy. Don't know for sure her
parents, but think it was a Richard Coleman, as Susannah and
Alexander named their eldest child and son, Richard Coleman Murphy b.
1816 Franklin Co., GA. My ancestor is dau. TENNESSEE MARY MURPHY b.
1826 prob. Lawrence Co., TN who m. DAVID COLEMAN GOATS b. 1820 Giles

I am trying to find if John PATTERSON whose daughter Sarah married my
ggggfather, Hugh McNeill (MCNEAL, MCNEIL) ca 1827-1829, had any land
in Lawrence County. Their first child John Patterson McNeil was b.

(my gggfather), Malcom, and Lochlin MCNEILL. I feel that Sarah must
have died ca 1840 after the last child was born because I can find no

Michael Waldrop married Rebecca Brown 8 January 1810 in Maury county.
We later find this family in the 1820 Wayne county census, and then
in the 1830 Lawrence county census. Children are: William, Nancy
Caroline, James A., Margaret, Thomas A., Andrew B., Anderson Marion,
Sarah, Rachel, Mary, and Abel. Would like more information on these
families, such as birth, death, and marriage dates and places. A good
portion of this family was in Tishomingo and possibly Layfayette

in Henderson, Smith and Kaufman counties of Texas.
