Two grave sites are located beside the road where the Salem and the Indian Creek Roads join. The two stone markers share a field with two pretty horses. One stone has no information on it. The other is Dr. John M. Douglass. Wayne Brewer shares the following information with us. The late Dr. Lawrence D. Myers was a relative of Dr. Douglass. Dr. Myers was a veterinarian from East Tennessee and located in Hohenwald several years ago. Wayne accompanied him to this site on a number of occasions.  Cheryl Zelek provided the following census information: 

"1850 Census of Lewis Co., TN, Civil District 6, page 393B, family and dwelling number 66, lines 34 & 35: 

The 1880 census has only one entry for the name Douglass: " The 1880 census on page 340 show a Mariah Douglass, age 38. She is listed as a g daughter." Exactly how many graves are at this site is unknown, but believed to be few in number.
