"Grinder's
Creek School House Burned"

Caught in Roof While School Was In Session
The school house on Grinder's Creek was burned Wednesday morning. The fire started in the roof and interrupted the school in the midst of the spelling class recitation.
The teacher and pupils went to work with a will to save the school furniture and all the desks were carried out before the roof fell in.
The building was an old-time log house, but it had been fitted up with modern desk seats.
The teacher, Sam Daniel, came to Hohenwald on the afternoon train, but will return in a few days to reopen school. The remainder of the term will be taught in the church nearby.
