Akersville and Cave Hollow Road

Probably the hardest hit area.  These pictures were made in just a small area along Akersville Road and Cave Hollow Road.

Towel left undisturbed in a demolished bathroom

Despite the damage this house looks good compared to those of its neighbors.  Still uninhabitable.

The rug hanging on a branch.

The search dog hit on something amidst the rubble.  We stumbled upon this scene and stood around for a couple of hours watching the determination and dedication these rescue workers had.

As these workers had to sift through the personal belongings of the former occupant(s) of this home, I had to reflect on my junk and how this could have been my things to go through.  I think I will make things a little easier just in case someday I have to be dug out.

Neighboring house and yard.

Search continues.
Group effort to move the wall to see what is underneath.

Local man bringing in the heavy equipment to move some of the debris so workers could continue their search

When my husband and I left they were still looking for whatever the dog had hit on.  Word came in that a dog had also hit on something in a pond on Cave Hollow Road.  Boats were brought in for that effort.  We left without learning the results

Just something to remind us of lives that were forever changed.
