Mrs. Lucy Ann Steen
Mrs. Lucy Ann Steen, aged 84 years, died at her home in Lafayette at six o’clock Tuesday morning following an illness of a short time from heart disease. She was the widow of Elihu Steen who died 28 years ago. She is survived by three sons and three daughters, Frank Steen and Mrs. Dora Russell, both of Day’s X Roads; Benton Steen, who resided with his mother; Claude Steen of near Sullivan; Mrs. Harrison Shrum of Metropolis, Ill., and Mrs. Emily Rhoton of Tompkinsville, Ky., A half-brother, Whick Shrum of Sumner county, and a half sister Mrs. Zet Weems of Eulia, also survive.
Burial was made about ten o’clock Wednesday morning in the McDonald Cemetery, near Lafayette. Funeral services were conducted by Elder W.T. Taylor pastor of Beech Bottom Baptist church, of which the deceased had been a member for many years. She was the daughter of Pleasant Shrum, who died many years ago. She had resided for a number of years here where she was held in high esteem.
