Macon County, Tennessee is located in middle Tennessee on the Kentucky Border,
Scenic and Historic Macon County was formed from the counties of Smith and
Sumner on the 18th of January in 1842. It is named for Nathaniel Macon, born
1758 NC, A Revolutionary War soldier, North Carolina Senator, and a member of
the House of Representatives.
