George Washington Bradley was born on 24 February 1851 in Tennessee. He was the son of Terry and Harriett Cage Bradley. He was noted living in Macon County, Tn in 1860 with his step-father, Pleasant Butrum, and his mother, Harriett Cage Bradley Butrum.¹George was married to Nannie Jane Cartwright. Nannie was born on 24 June 1853 in Tennessee. She was the daughter of Enoch and Sallie Smithwick Cartwright. Nannie was noted living with her parents in Macon County, Tn in 1860.²
The family resided in Civil District 1 of Macon County, Tn. They gave the land next to their home

for the present day Bradley Cemetery. This Cemetery is located on Main Street in LaFayette, Tn.
George and Nannie were the parents of two children:
| Clarence Bradley was born cir 1872 in Tennessee; | |
| Clay H. Bradley was born in August of 1874 in Tennessee |
George passed away on 08 February 1932 at his home in LaFayette, Macon County, Tn. He was buried at the Bradley Cemetery on 09 February 1932. Nannie passed away on 23 Jun 1937 at her home in LaFayette, Tn. She was buried on 24 June 1937 next to her husband in an unmarked grave at the Bradley Cemetery.³
