James
Allen Turner b. 20 Jun 1827 in Westmoreland, Tn d. 20 Mar 1907 in
Gainesville, Texas. He married Margaret Ann Simmons around 1849.
Margaret Ann Simmons was born on the 19th day of January in 1836
Westmoreland, Tn. She died 22 Jul 1914 in Fort Worth, Texas.
James A. and Margaret owned 500 acres of Tobaco on Trammel Creek,
Macon Co., Tn which they sold to Josephus "Joe" Simmons
when they moved as a group to the Gainesville area of Texas
around 1895 to this home. Below is a picture of the Turner
family, with the exception of Clarence, James A. and Margaret the
identity of the others are mere guesses. Anyone who can correctly
identify all the subjects in the picture are asked to let us
know.
