Ancestry.com has David Lane as David Lane Sr and has him born inMarion County TN.Our records show that David and his wife had adaughter by the name of Elizabeth and that she was born in Alabama in1819. She married William Stigall (Stegall?) and ultimely moved toMO.There seems to be variations of the spelling of the last name also. It is listed as Lain, Lane, and Layne. PETER HENRY BROWN/ NC, GA, TN P.H. BROWN was born ca 1822 eitherNorth or South Carolina. He had known brothers Madison (Matt) andLeroy. Matt worked for the city of Atlanta Ga. after the Civil War.Peter's mother remarried after his father's death, when Peter was ayoung boy,possibly married a man named Cook. Peter was sometimescalled "Dr. Brown" as he served as a nurse and hospital steward inConfederate Army. He married Lydia JONES, sister of James RolandJONES of Walker Co. Ga. They were married in Coweta Co. Ga. 30 Nov1841. They are in census records of Coweta Co. Ga., Cherokee Co.Ala., Walker Co. Ga. and Sequatchie Co. Tn. after their marriage. Peter left Lydia a few years after the war and disappeared. There isa strong connection to the Spearman family as the name was used for 4generations of the family. Children were: Elizabeth E., JamesMadison, Gabriel Spearman, Nancy Ann, Sarah Jane (mine), WillisWarner, Russell Peter, Solomon Moor. Lydia died and is buried MarionCo.

I am trying to find when William Thomas CRAWFORD (and wife Nancy)arrived in Marion Co. I know that he was there February 11, 1863because one of his children, Enos Christman Crawford, was born therethen. William left Polk County sometimes in 1860-1863 time periodfor Marion Co. but not sure when. One child was born (and died) inPolk Co. sometimes in 1860. One child, Mary Elizabeth Crawford, wasborn March 26, 1861 but don't know where yet, either Polk Co. orMarion Co., or somewhere inbetween. The family was still in Marioncounty in 1866 because Thomas Grant Crawford was born in Marion Co.,not sure of the exact date.
