BARRETT, HOLDSWORTH

HENRY BARRETT,married to my great-great-grandmother. Story has itthat he was killed by a splinter from a tree. He was a foreman orboss over some men cutting logs in Georgia. The splinter stuck himin the heart, he pulled it out and died. I believe that HENRYBARRETT was Granma's 2nd Husband. LILLIE BARRETT is another namegiven, I think she's an aunt. First husband was JAMES HORACEHOLDSWORTH, he died of cancer. MY GRANDFATHER was JAMES HORACEHOLDSWORTH, JR. Aunt Rosie told me that Jim was just a little boy atthe time, and his mother stayed in a dried goods store to get moneyto raise Jim Jr. At some point he must have migrated to DeKalbCounty where he married Winnie (Robinson) Holdsworth. They had about10 children--Sophia Holdsworth (Pete)is my mother. If anybody fromPittsburg Tenn is willing to help, I'd really appreciate it. Needsomething else to go on. Thanks.

ROBERSON,FUQUA

James ROBERSON,Born 1737 in Scotland, came to America and MarriedMaryFUQUA at Bledsoe in 1756. They had a number of children, includingRoysdon ROBERSON born 1757 in Bledsoe He married Mary Lou STOVALL in that area and they had children including William ROBERSON bornin 1806 they moved to Missouri in about 1827. Mary Lou died in 1822and Roysdon died in 1828 and they were buried in Maries CountyMo.However, the two elders James and Mary(Faqua) were buried in TheOld Indian Burial Grounds at Marion..Questions:Did James travel from Scotland alone to Virginia? Is the fact that he came to Cherokee territory and was buried at theold Indian Burial Grounds significant? Who are the other children ofJames and Mary & Roysdon & Mary Lou? What do you make of the unusual given name Roysdon? Roy's sire?We have this end of the puzzle with more than 1,000 descendents ofJames R. Happy to share all of this!Rev Hubert Roberson
