I am searching for an Unknown Pryor b. abt 1810-1820, married toElizabeth ? , possibly lived in Marion County, TN. They had a childnames Clerind B. Pryor b. abt. 1856 in TN, married William Loftis. In the 1880 Census Clerind and William Loftis lived in Jackson Co.,TN and Elizabeth Pryor was listed as living with them, so I assumeher husband was deceased.William Loftis and Clerind Pryor had 5 children; Pearlie, Elizabeth,Minerva, William and Mary Lou Loftis (my grandmother) b. 1/1/1880 m.Asberry Stewart in TN. As it turns out Asberry Stewart had a brothernamed Marion Franklin Stewart. In researching Marion Stewart I finda record of his name in the TN Death Index in Marion County in 1916Record #203.This is a shot in the dark in trying to locate my Unknown Pryor, butyou never know. A Mr. Ellis e-mailed me the following note; "Alex, these KEEF are the ones that you are probably looking for. There is a picture of both Tom and Josephine. CUNNINGHAM, MCMURRY

Seeking information on ancestry of John and Jane Ellie CUNNINGHAM. They apparently arrived in Marion Co., TN ca. 1821 with their entirefamily which consisted of: Elizabeth, b. 1802; Riley Alexander, b.1805; Amy Homes, b. 1807; John Davidson, b.1810; Pleasant Henderson,b. 1813; Rachel Montgomery, b. 1816; and Unity Hollie, b. 1819. Amalso most interested in the descendants of these children. Three ofthese children married members of the McMURRY family of Marion Co.,TN. John CUNNINGHAM became a large land holder in Marion Co., TNbetween 1821 and 1840 including a one-third partnership in 5,000acres.

LEE/LEA, BALLARD

Looking for any information on a Allen LEE/LEA that was a Captain inthe "Lookout Rangers" He was mustered into Confederate Service atNashville, TN November 1, according to MEN FROM MARION COUNTY. Allenand some of his men later served in the 2nd Alabama Cavalry Battalionof which LEA was first Captain and later Major. Allen resigned fromthe Confederae Army and Enlisted in the Union Army as part of theFirst TN and AL Independent Vidette Cavalry. Allen reached the rankof Lieutenantl Allen was born Bledsoe County TN. He lived in DeKalband Jackson County's Alabama. Allen had brothers and sisters thatmarried BALLARDS. I am researching the YOUNG AND BURROUGHS families of So. Pittsburghand Jasper, TN. The earliest info. I have dates to the 1900 censusthat lists James D. YOUNG and Mary YOUNG. Mary YOUNG was born in1859 in VA. Her maiden name was Whitaker. Her husband James D.YOUNG was born in 1835. They had 10 children; Henry, Mattie,William, Arthur, Robert, Bessie, Gracie, Laura, Samantha and Estelle(my grandmother b.1904). My grandfather was Jacob Harding BURROUGHSb. 1876to john and Mary A. BURROUGHS. John Burrouoghs was born in1855 and Mary Burroughs in 1850. They had 6 children; Jacob Hardingb. 1876, Lula E. b1879, Mary Ann b. 1882, Martha J. b. 1884, Nancy E.b. 1886, and William H. b. 1889. Jacob Harding BURROUGHS married my grandmother Estelle Leslie YOUNGin 1925. It was his 2nd marriage. His first was to Rittie M. in1904. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

13 Dec 1853 Guilford BROWN married Sarah STEGALL in Grundy Co TN. 13March 1856 Guilford bought 100 acres of land in Marion Co TN fromAustin Coppinger. 28 Sept 1858 Guilford BROWN sold 100 acres of landto Isaac Reed. This is all the records I can find of Guilford Brownexcept that his youngest son was born 5 Dec 1860.Can’t find Guilford and Sarah on the 1860 census or any other census.He disappeared after 1860. He may have been killed in the Civil War,but I can’t find any records. Sarah Stegall BROWN and her three sonswere living with her parents, William and Elizabeth STEGALL Texas CoMO on 1870 census. I am looking for my great-great grandfather. All I know of him is hisname was William Preston QUARLES and he lived originally in Jasper,Tennessee. His wife was Quilly Anne (surname unknown), William wasborn in 1873 and died in 1958 in Durant, Ok. I am looking for information on Soloman Stone, Sr., Soloman Stone,Jr. and Noble Stone who were listed on the 1830 census of MarionCounty. In 1830, Soloman Stone, Sr. was listed as 70 years of age. Soloman is noted to have married Sallie Ann Bean, however, I am notsure whether this marriage was of Soloman Sr. or Soloman, Jr.. Iwould appreciate any information anyone might have on these people.
