William Bryant BAKER m. Elizabeth Emma RUSSELL on Sept.25, 1852, in Maury
County, Tennessee. Family history states that William came from Virginia;
however, the 180 US census has his birthplace as Missouri. I am looking
for any information on these two. I have seen a photograph of a place
called Baker's Lookout in Maury County. Do you know where this is? Do you
know the person/family it was named for? Any information on RUSSELLs in
Maury County before 1857 is very welcome. William and Elizabeth migrated
to the Paluxy River Valley, Texas in 1857. Elizabeth must have left
family behind. Their son JAMES M. BAKER was born July 5, 1853 and died on
April 6, 1855. They also had two daughters born before they left for
Texas: BELLE PILINA BAKER (b. Dec 11, 1854) and MARY Ann Francis BAKER
(b. Dec 11, 1856).

Searching for information about Wilson Brown born about 1785 in Hertford
County, North Carolina and who died April 1850 in Bond County, Illinois.
Wilson had a son, my great grand father, Calvin born 2 November 1821 in
Nashville. We think Calvin's mother was Sarah Jenkins. Wilson Brown's
father may have been named Lewis Brown, with wife named Jemima. Family
rumor is that he was a Hessian soldier brought over by British to fight
against the colonists, but that he defected when colonists offered him
land?
