Looking for information on LUKE GRIMES. He was born in 1801, location
unknown. He lived in Lawrence County circa 1819 or before until 1836.
He was listed as being a minor and RICHARD BAILEY was appointed his
guardian. Would like to learn who LUKE'S parents were and what was his
relationship to RICHARD BAILEY. Also would appreciate any information on
POLLY/MARY NULL. She married LUKE in 1819. Who were her parents?
Would appreciate any help.

Maury Co. TN. He m. Eugenia WILSON in 1868. Eugenia d. 1880. Were
there any children?
George m. Martha MCLENDON of LaGrange, Troup Co. GA, b. 1888.
They had two children. He was a physician at Mt. Pleasant until
his death around 1908. George's parents were Lemuel LONG b. 1799
and Mary CRAIG b. 1813; married 1831. This was Lemuel's 2nd marr;
the 1st being in 1823 to Matilda LAWRENCE b. 1806, d. 1830. They

Census. One of his heirs, is my great great grandfather

Polly Randall married in Maury Co. in 1814. I have speculated
that Peter Owen might be father of Reuben. They are listed
close by in the early Tax Rolls. Their ages are correct for
father and son. I have info on this Peter Owen back to
Orange County NC. He married Hannah Mitchell daughter of
Andrew Mitchell who came to America from Limmerick County
Ireland. The Whitaker clan arrived in Maury Co. in 1830's
from Orange Co. NC. Polly Randle's father I believe is James

Harmon Hensley, b:1780, in TN. Harmon married Elizabeth (Betsy),
(unknown last name), and their first 8 children were born in
Williamson Co., then Maury Co., TN. (Maury county was formed
from Williamson Co. about 1808 or 1809). It has been reported
that Harmon's first five children were born in or close to a
town known as Rountree Mill, but I haven't been able to find any
information regarding this town or settlement.
These first five children are:
William, b: 1799, James, b: 1801, John Motley, b: 1806, Johnson,
b: 1807, and Sarah (Sallie), b: 1809.
The next three children, born in Maury Co. (Possibly the same
location as the first five children), are: Charles, b: 1811,
Andrew Jackson, b: 1816, and Mary, b: 1818.
Harmon and Betsy's last child, Margaret, was born in Illinois,
in 1820.
The next record we have of Harmon was on the 1830 census for
Texas, where he was listed as a farmer, from Arkansas.
Harmon was preceded in Texas by three of his sons, the first
record we have indicates James was in Texas in 1816.
I have a lot of information on Harmon's descendants, and their
branches from Texas, but so far have been unable to document any
information on his siblings, or parents. They have a very rich
history in Texas, including some genuine early Texas heros.
Maybe you have some information that will connect???

the Masonic Lodge in Clifton, TN. He was instrumental in the
building of the Mt Auburn Church.

Maury Co, TN from North Carolina. Mother was Rebecca TAYLOR, from
?Chowan Co, NC. Surname may also appear as Vickers?

I am a United States Air Force Veteran and I am in the process of
locating any records on Simon Stephenson/Stevenson. Simon was accounted
for in the 1880 census of Maury County, Tennessee. His occupation was a
farm laborer. Over the years the spelling of the name has changed to
"Stevenson". Simon was a full blooded Cherokee Indian. I am a
descendant of his. His great, great, great grandson. Anyone with
information or that can point me in the right direction it would be
greatly appreciated. No records of Simon were found before 1880. Some
speculate that he came from New Orleans, LA. Please help!!! Thanks a
bunch!!!!
