CANNON, Richardson W. Brother of Henry B. CANNON of Maury Co. TN. Both
brothers emigrated to TX ca. 1838 upon receiving grants from the Republic
of Texas. Richardson sold his TX property and moved to Hempsted Co, AR.
Henry remained in TX. Does anyone have a relationship to Richardson W.
CANNON? Was he married? To whom was he married? Did he have children

my GGG Grandfthr, Allen White came to Haywood county before 1840. He was
in that census and appears in land deals in old deed books as far back as
Feb 6, 1837 when he bought 51 acres from Alexander Henry. He lived with
his daughter Elleanor, who had married a William Rhodes and appears in
the 1870 census as 83 years old, living with that family. He came from
Bertie county, N.C. and had 9 children by his first wife Elizabeth,
including my GG Grandfather, Peter Doss White, who fought in the 47th TN
Inf in the civil war.. He may have married again to a Mary Polly Clark.

Searching for infomation on W.H. Gilmer, b. May 17, 1840, Maury Co., TN,
married Helen Josephine McKnight of Giles Co., Mar. 27, 1873. W.H.,
Helen and their children William Jackson GILMER, b. Feb. 3, 1874, Mae
(Mollie) GILMER, b. Jan 1877, Robert Houston GILMER, b. 1880, and Fannie
Dodge GILMER, b. June 9, 1883 all appear in Maaury Co. on the 1880
census. The next place I found then, without W. H. GILMER, is in Fort
Worth, TX in 1900. The 1900 census showes Helen Josephine as a widow. I
would appreciate any information on the GILMER line anyone may have to

HARDIN, RITCHIE, BROWN, TUCKER; I am looking for decendants of Jeremiah
Hardin, b. Port Huron, Mich. around 1840. He was Union soldier who
married Sarah Jane Ritchie of Maury Co. in 1865 after being mustered from
army. Sarah Jane Ritchie was daughter of Gilliam Ritchie and Sarah Smith
Ritchie.
Jeremiah and Sarah Jane Hardin had children: Jerry, Albert, Charles, John
Henry and Dora. Charles and John Henry Hardin married Brown sisters of
Maury Co. John Henry Hardin married Lucy Ann Brown, who's parents were
William Brown and Eliza Jane Tucker Brown.

HOLMES - TATE
Moses HOLMES & Jennet/Jane TATE were married in 1792 in Orange Co.,
NC and subsequently moved to Maury County, TN where they lived the
remainder of their lives. Records indicate that Moses died about 1843
while Jane lived until the early months of 1849. Their known children
were Robert who married three times: Jane MITCHELL, Nancy FORGEY and
Rachel Emeline LATTA; Rachel who married Thomas FITZGERALD; William who
married Margaret NICHOLS; Eleanor who married William WOLLARD; Ann who
married John OLIPHANT; John who married three times to Martha A. EVANS,
Jackey Rachel EVANS and Parthena THOMSON and Jane who married Allen
DUNGAN. There may have been one other son whose given name is unknown.
I have information on all but two of the children. I need to know where
John HOLMES moved when he left Maury County which was after 1860. I
would also like to know more about the family of John D. & Ann
OLIPHANT. Any help will be appreciated; thank you.

Seeking data on the BLACKMAN family (the siblingss John, Bennett, and
Ann) who arrived in Davidson County in the 1790s from Sampson County, NC.
John Blackman was married to Nancy M. HAYS (second wife was Elizabeth
Herring); Bennett Blackman was married to Susanna HAYS, NancyAEs sister
(BennettAEs second wife was Ann Clinton); Ann Blackman was married to
Charles HAYS, the brother of the two sisters. A brother James BLACKMAN,
and his wife Elizabeth Ann Oates migrated from Sampson County to
Rutherford County in 1808. John and Bennett Blackman separately moved to
Maury County in the 1820s. Bennett and Susanna Hays Blackman were my g-
g-g-g-grandparents. I wish to expand on the information I possess on any
and all four of these BLACKMAN/HAYS lines.

Married William Cranford. Family lore said he was a politician,
Postmaster, and called "Mr. Republican" by the townspeople.

My 3gr grandfather was Elam WADDELL b:26 July 1806 in Maury Co. TN.
He had a brother named John and a sister named Fannie. Elam was a
Cumberland Presbyterian Minister. In April of 1827 he married
Margaret Reed CAMPBELL b: Feb 1809 in TN.(I do not know the county)
She had two brothers named John and Billy. Some time after their
marriage they moved to Attala County, Mississippi. By 1850 they
were living in Arkansas. Elam died April 1882 in Arkansas. Margaret
died 15 Aug 1869.
I am looking for the parents of Elam WADDELL and Margaret Reed
CAMPBELL. Any info will be much appreciated.

I am looking for information on the Gullett family: Samuel Gullett
married Rebecca Thompson. Both died in Maury Co., he in 1829, she in
1856 and were buried in the Lower Hoshaw Cemetery. One son, also
Samuel died in Maury Co. He never married, yet on a visit to the
cemetery, someone had placed flowers. I would like to get in
touch with anyone with information about the family.
My family line is through the son, John T. Gullett, said to be a
Senator in Missouri, married to Letha Moore Brackeen.

COOPER- Looking for family and info on JOHN A COOPER who was married to
SARAH E LAW in Maury Co TN on 05/15/1839. John was born in approx 1812 I
believe in Guilford Co NC and Sarah was born in approx 1822 in VA.
They moved back to Va for a few years in early 1840s and then on to MO
where they show up in the 1850 census. John had 3 brothers David,
Lemuel, and Emsly all of whom moved to MO in 1840s. I believe they also
had 2 sisters-Eleanor and Ann Matilda who married and stayed in NC.
There were many Coopers still listed on Maury Co TN census in 1850 and i
would llike to know who might be related. Also looking for parents of
both John and Sarah. Have Much info on all of the brother's families

I am looking for the date of death for Moses HOLMES; his will was
probated in Maury County in the summer of 1843. Final settlement of the
estate didn't take place until the middle part of 1849. His wife, Jane
ROGERS HOLMES, was alive at the time the will was made and she apparently
outlived him. It appears she died either late in 1848 or in the first
few months of 1849. In addition, I very much would like to know where
Moses & Jane HOLMES are buried. I've looked at the available
cemetery books for Maury County but they are not listed. I have
information to exchange regarding the HOLMES family in Maury County.

County Tennessee. W.T. died and is buried in Puryear , Tennessee in
1908. They apparently were seperated or divorced and I can't find
anything definite on this Malissa Jane Spencer.
