July 1841, Maury Co., TN. They lived on Cathay's Creek off the Duck
River, near Williamsport, Maury Co. Six children were born there: Mary
Isabella, William James, Clarinda Campbell, Daniel Webster, John Wiley,
and Robert Henry. The family moved to Iowa ca. 1855. D.M. was an orphan
from Illinois, but I believe that Minerva had family who stayed in TN.

newspaper article re Josephine's 90? birthday indicated that

known about him. Elizabeth Evans was b. 1840. No other information is
known about her. John William Cyree, only son of James and Elizabeth was
b. 4/27/1863, d. 4/29/1924 in Coffee Co. He married Mary (Molly) Glascoe
who was b. 4/3/1864, d. 2/9/1935 in Chattanooga, TN. Hwer mother was
Lavina B. Sones (Sons). John L. (Jack) Pierce, b. 9/9/1811, d. after
1884 in Bedford Co. He married Hulda Massey who was b. 9/13/1815. One
of their sons was John Hardy Pierce, b. 3/26/1849 in Moore Co., m.
Marilda Pierce. Marilda Pierce b. 1851, d. 1921 in Moore Co. Her
parents were Jesse Pierce and Elizabeth Rogers. Jesse Ellis Pierce, b.
12/18/1876, d. 3/29/1932, m. Ella Jane Ward, b. 3/30/1874m d, 5/20/1905,

I am researching the surnames listed above. James GANNAWAY, son
of Edmund "Money" GANNAWAY and Drucilla WALKER, was b. in 1794
in
Buckingham Co., VA. He married (first) Nancy GRIMES on 26 Jun 1818 in
Maury Co., TN and (second)
Mary A. EDERINGTON sometime before 1832. From his marriage with Nancy
GRIMES, came three
children. Robinson B. (Robert) GANNAWAY, Washington W. GANNAWAY,
and Nancy A. GANNAWAY. They were born between 1820 and 1825. I am
mainly concerned with these three children, Robinson B. (Robert) GANNAWAY
in particular. He was born in 1820, in Maury Co., TN. He married
Rebecca Ann HOWELL on 28 Nov 1844 in Monroe Co., MS. I would like
to hear from anyone who may have information on any one listed above.
I have no information at all on Nancy GRIMES or the siblings of

I am searching for confirmation of any of the following: My great
grandfather Calvin Brown was born in Nashville in 1821 but all
indications are that his family came from Maury county. Calvin's father
was Wilson Brown, born in Hertford County, NC in 1785 who died in Bond
County, IL in 1850. I don't know the name of Wilson Brown's wife, the
mother of Calvin, but some records indicate she was born in TN about
1795, others indicate she was born in NC. Calvin's grandfather was Lewis
Brown married to Jemima Brown presumeable in Maury County about 1820.

I am looking for information about Alfred C. Miller who was born in Maury
County about 1829. He was the son of Vincent Miller and Milded Miller. He
married Minvera Jane Akin on February 28, 1854 and they had three
children. The childen were Inez, a female born about 1855, William
Vinnie, a male born on December 10, 1856, and Minerva Akin Miller who was
born on February 22, 1860 and died on July 21, 1861. A biography about
William Vinnie said that he and his father moved to Obion County,
Tennessee after the Civil War.

my ggg grandfather, Allen White,b.circa 1786 in Bertie county, N.C.,
appears in the 1820 Maury county census. His wife was Elizabeth &
they had children: Redding (who was married in Madison county in 1830);
Frederick; Bryant; Daniel (married in Madison county in 1838); Andrew
Jackson; Millie; Eleanor; Peter Doss (my gg grandfather); and Cornelia.
Allen eventually moved to Haywood county & is found there in 1836
