I wish to identify both CYNTHIA MILLER HAMLET and her husband
WILLIAM HAMLET. On 16 October 1821, Warren County, TN, Cynthia supported
by statements of JANE AND JAMES MILLER ( Her parents? )was requesting a
divorce from William. She stated that they and their two children were
living in White Co., TN. She referred to him as "William Hamlet of White
Co. " In 1816, he began beating her and her friends wanted her to leave
him, but she wouldn't. She decided to try to change him, but he grew
worse during 1817-1819, In April he left her. She had just managed to
get some food and clothing when in May or June 1819 he returned to White
Co. where she was still living and took everything she had. In July 1819
he was in Maury Co. She had heard he planned to return again and take
everything she had managed to get since he left. She wanted a divorce.
I research the HAMLET FAMILY of both White and Maury Counties, TN, so I need to identify this William and the names of his children. I wish also to identify his wife Cynthia and determine what happened to all of them. Were they connected to the Berryman Hamlet of White Co. TN or the Littleberry Hamlet family of Maury TN ?

I would like to correspond with anyone having knowledge of the McCracken
families who lived in Maury County from before 1820 through 1840. I am
especially interested in the family of Ephriam McCracken who, as a Maury
resident, purchased land in Yalobusha County, MS ca 1827 and apparently
moved there between 1836 and 1840. I am also interested in the family of
a John McCracken who is listed in the 1840 Maury County Federal Census. I
understand from published Maury County records that an Ephriam McCracken
married a Jane A. Oliver in 1831 and a man by the same name married an
Elizabeth Ann Walker in 1834. Was this the same man or two different men?
