I am looking for information about Sarah Elizabeth "Nellie"
NOLEN/NOLAN who married Thomas Jefferson RAINS in Maury County, TN on
October 10, 1882. The witnesses to that marriage were E. H. CURRY,
Charles HARDISON, and J. W. NOLAN. Sarah Elizabeth "Nellie" NOLAN
was listed as 18, and Thomas Jefferson RAINS was 19. Their two
oldest children Bertie Nora RAINS, and Willard Earnest RAINS were
born in Tennessee. Tom and Nellie RAINS then moved to Texas where
Thomas Jefferson RAINS, Jr., Jessie RAINS, Bryant RAINS, and Henry C.
RAINS were born. They later moved to Oklahoma, and settled in
Duncan, Stephens Co., OK. They are both buried there. Need help on

S. SHADDEN b. MS 26Nov 1846, d. Hunt Co., TX , 8 Mar 1918. He
married Eliza G. ROAN b.TN 4 Feb 1849, d. 17 Dec 1903 in TX. They
married on 23 July 1868, presumably in Maury County, TN. He enlisted
there in Company B, 9thTennessee Cavalry in 1864 under the command of
Major Aiken or GeneralWheeler, he was "surrendered to Sherman" and
served until 1865. Ason William H. Shadden was born in TN on 28 Feb
1870, a daughter DoraShadden was also born in TN on 22 July

I just found my
paternal great grandparents, George E. WEBBER andNancy WHITE, who
moved from Maury County, Tenn. to Washington County,Ark. in 1829.
George was born about 1805 in Florida; Nancy was bornin North
Carolina about 1807; we don't know when they came toTennessee, but in
1829 they left Maury county with Nancy's mother;Catherine
HUFSTUTLER/WHITE; her brothers, William H.(b. 1815) andJames S. and a
sister, Clarissa I. WHITE (the siblings - all underthe age of 21
years). This apparently came after the death of thefather of the
family, James WHITE, who had been a friend of PresidentJames Knox
POLK. George and Nancy then seem to have "adopted" theWHITE family,
at least until William married in 1836 and went to livein Morrow,
also in Washington Co.,Ark. He was later killed while homefrom the
Civil War (abt 1862-65).Anyone sharing information on the
WEBBER/WHITE family will earn manybrownie points with my
family.

Searching for information on the family of
James Polk JOHNSON,married Mary Etta JOHNSON. I have been unable to
find anything priorto 1910 on James. Listed on 1910 Tennessee census
Mary E. Johnson inCivil District Number 1, Goshen Road, in Santa Fe,
Tennessee as beinga widow. My grandfather Lex JOHNSON, b. 2/19/1890;
married MaryLouise (Lula) GIBSON, b. 1/9/1892, on 12/28/1907. A son
Clifton waslisted as still being at home. James Polk JOHNSON and

My ancestor James Joseph Eubanks was born in
Maury Co, TN in 1826. His parents were Stephen Green Eubanks and wife
Susannah Q. Branch. The Eubanks were probably from Virginia, moving
to TN around 1800. They left for Illinois around 1831. I have so far
been unable totrace Stephen or Susannah's parentage. Is anyone

Seeking parents of Vernon Charles WILSON b
1/13/1897, as far as Iknow.Orphaned in Middle Tn between 1897 and

(Mary) Emeline EDWARDS.She was born 1850 in Hardison's Mill on the
Duck River. Molliemarried James McCONNELL. James was born in Globe

I am researching several of my
ancestors who came from Maury County. I am interested in anthing
regarding the families of William RUMAGEborn in 1806. He was married
to Nancy BARKER born in 1810. William's parents were Daniel RUMAGE
born in Virginia and SusannaMONTGOMERY (1760 - 1855) The RUMAGE's
came to Maury County in 1810. Also researching a separate family,
WHITESIDE.Interested ininformation on William WHITESIDE who married
Margaret CULP. Theywere both born around 1763. Their son was
Jonathan WHITESIDE (1792 -1860) who married Mary ---- (died 1844).
