I am searching for info on David LOONEY, Jr (son of David and Mary
Ann (McCLELLAN) LOONEY of Sullivan Co, TN). I am mainly looking for
info for David, Jr from the time of his marriage to Jane SPURGEON in
1796/99 Sullivan Co to his living in Smith Co, TN to the time they
removed to IL. I have a land sale record for 1810 (in Maury Co, TN)
saying that David was of Smith Co and have seen something, somewhere
that he served in the War of 1812 for that county. Any help is
appreciated as I am hoping to do a trip following his footsteps
through TN to IL and WI (in Aug).

Am looking for information regarding Seth Graves HARRELL and his
wife, Mourning Desdemona DAGGETT (m. 1830, Maury Co.), Peter HARRELL,
Josiah HARRELL and his wife Sarah ?. Josiah is Seth's father, but I
don't know how Peter is related. In Feb 1825, Josiah deeds 203 acres
of land to Peter and Seth; HARRELL is spelled HERALD on the deed.
The deed was registered July 1825. Seth and Mourning's first two
children, Sarah Francis and Joseph R, were born in Maury Co. Josiah
and Sarah are listed on the 1820 census, but my trail ends there.

I am searching for the life of the elusive William WALDROP, and his
3rd wife Dicey (?BRAY) COMPTON. William and two sons, Martin "Mark"
and George Washington "Wash" moved and settled three miles north of
Waco, TN in c1838, following third son, David Andrew's move in c1836
from Georgia. The women folk are not mentioned. David and wife are
buried in the Waldrop Cemetery, located about 1.5 miles south of the
Maury/Giles County line, near "?Stiversville", on Hwy 31. George
Washington and wife are buried in another cemetery across Hwy 31.
There is nothing known about William (d. 1852) or Dicey (d. 1850s) or
any existance of their gravesites. Decendants lived all over central

Found info that Henry GINGER of Germany is an ancestor. m Chana Jane
LUSTER d of Archibald and Malinda(YARBOROUGH) LUSTER. Had several
children. Resided in Maury county TN in the 1820 census and I also
see that he is included in the list of Rev soldiers who once resided
in Maury county. My question: Since Henry was from Germany, I am
going to assume that he was a good churchgoer and that his children
were baptized. Daughter Mary Ann GINGER was b 1807 in Tennessee.
Was there a German church in Maury county at that time, and do
records exist? Thank you, Anna D.

My ggrandfather Terence McCabe married Martha Jane DUGGER in Maury
County on 20 July 1865, after the Civil War. Martha Jane's husband
had been killed during the war. She had two children from her first
marriage. I'm assuming that DUGGER was her married name and she kept
it because of the children. The children's names were Caroline
(Callie) and William. I have screened a film listing Tennessee's
Civil War veterans but it's by name and unit only. I found one
William DUGGER who was a Pvt in F Co. 48th (Later 54th) Inf and
W.P.DUGGER, who was a 1st Lt in A Co., 9th Tenn Cav. Both units were
Maury Cy. units. There are 4 more Maury County DUGGERS on the list. I
picked William because of the name of his child. If one of these two
was Killed In Action I may have the right one. If at all possible I
would like to know Martha Jane's maiden name.

Aggression, via Lewis and/or Marshall Counties. Were James and Josiah
brothers or cousins, were Louisa and Siannian related, or was all of
this just coincidence? Where do the other Maury County DEAN-DEENs
from this era fit in? Was Green Berrry DEEN (b.1824) a brother of
either? How about Joseph & Jane DEEN(b.1805 & 1803),etc.... Help! Any

Please help solve a mystery! The death of Meriwether Lewis was
investigated by a grand jury whose foreman was Samuel WHITESIDE
(1777-1850). The only known record of the proceedings was a personal
journal kept by Mr. WHITESIDE. A published account claims that the
journal was passed to Whiteside's son-in-law, Jordan POGUE
(1814-1880); m. Jeannet WHITESIDE (1814-1883) in 1835. It then went
to their son William D. POGUE (1840- ca1908), his son James J. POGUE
(1873-1961) and James J.'s son-in-law Robert Ulna SWANN (1897-1978),
m. Mary A. POGUE (1898-1992) in 1920. I am Ulna Swann's grandson, and
I never heard of or saw such a book while my grandparents were alive.
It's possible that the book went to another WHITESIDE, POGUE or SWANN
along the way. I'm trying to help a lady in Salt Lake City, Elaine
Broadbent, who is researching a book on Meriwether Lewis. Thanks!

My great-grandfather was Nathaniel RUSSELL who married Mary Elizabeth
VICK BURNS. Nathaniel came from Jessamine County, Kentucky.
Mary was first married to James Burns by whom she had two children,
John Burns and Susan Burns (Susan married John Smithson). Nathaniel
and Mary Russell had three children: William (born in Kentucky about
1871), Nancy (born 1880) and Hezekiah (born 1883). Mary died in
1887, apparently a widow as William and Hezekiah were appointed
guardians. I cannot, however, find any record of Nathaniel's death.
Mary was buried in Little Lot cemetery in Hickman County. I would
appreciate any information about this family.

I have a Thomas Edward KINGSTON and family listed in the 1820
and 1840 Maury Co. Census. He was born in 1814 in Tn. His
father is a Sr. His wife's name was Elizabeth. In the 1820
census
the Sr. KINGSTON had 4 children. In the 1840 census the Jr.
KINGSTON had 6 children. In an 1850 Lewis Co. census the
couple had 10 children. I am not sure if they moved or they
county moved. In an 1860 Hopkins Co. TX census there was a
older brother taking care a some younger siblings. Very
probably Thomas Edward KINGSTON Jr. and his wife died within
the 10 year period. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
