Searching for possibility my grandmother. She was part Cherokee and
lived in Wayne and Maury Counties, Tennessee.
The only infomation that I have is on my fathers' Social Security
application dated 1936. He stated that his mother was Lenora DAVIS.
My father was born in Maury County, he had a half-brother, whose
family information states that Lenora was his mother.
Several years ago I found her name on the Dawes Commission
Index,1898-1914, but really did not take it seriously and misplaced
her Census
Card number and the other information along with it.
You know by know that I do need help and would appreciate if
you could send me infomation regarding Lenora.

SPAIN, Nevil (Nevel) died in Maury Co., 6 Jun., 1856. I need a copy
of his will. Is there a Will Book transcription available that
covers that period of time? I will need that Book number and the
page number in order to write for a copy. His brother, my husband's
gggrandfather, died there and I attempted to write for his will. I
wrote three times, giving the year, which is all I knew. They wrote
back saying they couldn't find one. I finally had an opportunity to
go there, and found it within 5 minutes, so I know I need the book #
and page #.
I would be most grateful to anyone who can point me in the right
direction. I will be posting much more information after I get this
cleared up. There is family connections to NICHOLS, ALEXANDERS,
CRAWFORDS, BENDERMANS, BARNETTS, BURKETTS, WORTHAMS, TURNBOS,
HENDERSONS, ENGLISH, and numerous others. Jeanne Spain
