I am searching for ancestors in the Columbia, Tn area. My
ggrandfather was a Jesse Lee Evans, born in 1861, Maury County. His
father, "William", died about 1863 from injuries suffered in the
Civil War. Jesse had siblings named Henry, Dack or Dock, Nannie,
Betty. May have lived with a Will Roop or E.G. Rowe after father's

Looking for Whitworth family and DENTON in or near Maury County, TN.
I have a Lucinda V. WHITWORTH who married John E. DENTON in Maury Co,
in Feb. 1865 and cannot find anything on their children! Also would
like to know who Lucinda's parents were.
Their children were born in TN (per census records) until 1873 when
John and Lucinda removed to Hill Co, TX where they are on the 1880
Census.
By the 1900 Census, Lucinda is gone and the family has moved to
Limestone Co, TX (per census). John E. DENTON dies after 1920.
John E. DENTON was the son of Williamson DENTON.
Children of John E. and Lucinda DENTON: Albert b. 1867; Laura b.
1869; John b. 1871; Williamson b. 1873; Mary b. 1874; Delly b. 1876;
Cora b. 1878; James Franklin b. 1884.

I am looking for information on Anna (Annie) M. KENNEDY. She was
married on March 30, 1884 in Madison County, Tennessee. Her marriage
license lists her as 16 years old and her place of birth being Maury
County, Tennessee. Her headstone puts her birth in 1867 and her
death in 1913. A Bill KENNEDY was a witness to the license, no
relation given. She married James POLLACK that day in 1884. On
October 17, 1885 she married James Irvin SOWELL in Madison County.
Any help on who her parents might be would be appreciated.

I am looking for my grandmother's gravesite.I understand she was
buried in Spring Hill,TN where she lived before marrying my
grandfather Louis B.(Pat)SIMS somewhere around 1810-1813. Her name
was Cicely SPARKMAN SIMS. Her father was Albert R. SPARKMAN and her
mother was Lucinda C. HUNT. I visited my uncle, Claude B. SPARKMAN,
in the '50's on a farm in Spring Hill. I have a letter from him and
one from his wife, and he refers to showing my father his mother's
grave in Spring Hill when he was a young boy. (My father was born in
1916, and we think his mother died in 1917 or 1918)Claude B.
SPARKMAN's wife was my Aunt "Nell". I have no other name for her. I
would love to visit my grandmother's grave if I could find it.Also,
any marriage information would be helpful if you have it.The return
address on their letter June 21, 1949 was "C.B. Sparkman, RR#2,
Spring Hill." A postcard addressed to Mrs. A.R.Sparkman, RR #3, Spring
Hill was written by my grandmother in 1913.Thank you for any info!

Looking for information for a JOHN BUTLER, known in the Columbia area
of Bear Creek, as JOHNNY BUTLER. He was born in 1778 in
Virginia,died in Oct. 1871 in Bear Creek. his wife ELIZABETH born
1790 in Virginia, died Maury County in before 1870. Came to Maury
county Tn about 1808. Some one has marked in a census book in the
Maury County library that her name was "HAYES". Had a son SAM that
lived on Mt. Olivet rd. a son JOHN that moved to Scott County
Missouri 1860. John owned 200 acres. Where Bear creek empties into
Duck River was the southwest corner. (Bear Creek Pk and Tom Hicks
Pkwy.)

Looking for Thomas (Jefferson) Grant, b. around 1777, d. 1839-40 in
Marshall (former Maury)County, TN. Married to Sarah (E) Davis nee
Glover, b. abt. 1784 and d. in 1860 and buried in the Owensville, TX
Cemetery located in Robertson County. Believed to have had 8 - 9
children (John, Richard G., Howard, daughter (may have died at
birth), Mary Margaret, Levina, James Davis, Nancy E., Elizabeth).
Father said to have been James Grant who originally came from
Scotland and mother may have been Deborah who originally came from N.
Ireland. There are several references to Marshall County as a
possible birth place.

Does anyone have access to the Zion Presbyterian Church Cemetery
Listings in Maury Co., TN? I'm searching for the death date of Judge
William Edward Kennedy and his wife Elizabeth O. Willis-Kennedy.
Elizabeth was the daughter of Nathaniel Willis, granddaughter of the
Hon. Francis Willis. They are probably buried in the Kennedy Lot in

they lived near Godwin Station, I have not found Godwin Station but

I'm searching for information on Robert Green Harris who was born
1848, died 1932. He is buried in Mimosa Cem. in Lawrence Co., TN.
He married Lucy O'Neal King in Giles Co., TN. He was married
previously to someone named Alice and had 2 children by her: Myrtle
and Barton. They appear in the 1880 Maury Co., TN. census. Alice
probably died between 1880 and Nov. 1881, as this is when Robert
Green Harris married his 2nd wife, Lucy King. I am interested in
knowing who his 1st wife was and also who Robert Green's parents
were.

I'm searching for info on James White born 1832, died 1901 in Maury
Co., TN. He married Nancy Jane Yancy King in 1867 in Giles Co., TN.
They moved to Maury Co. from Giles sometime after 1880 and before
1900. James and Nancy had 6 children: Reuben Mack White born 1868,
Martha born 1871, David born 1874, Robert C. born 1880, Marshall born
1882, and Ida born 1888. Reuben Mack migrated to Texas, Martha
married Robert Reese Dugger, David died as a teen-ager, Robert C.
White married Bessie Harlan and had 1 son, James Harlan White,
Marshall White never married, and Ida White married Arch Harris.
Nancy Jane Yancy was married 1st to William A. King by whom she had 4
children who James White raised. Can anyone tell me anything about
this family?
