My ancestor Asa Wayman (c.1795-1845) married Mary (Polly) Carr in
1820 in Maury County. By 1825 they were back near his family in
Blount County and a few years later in Jefferson County, Illinois.
About 1836 they had a son Francis Willis. I don't know who Mary
Carr's parents were, but I suspect her father was probably James
Carr, of Maury County, who died in 1820. But I wonder whether there
might have been a connection between James Carr and Francis Willis,
the Revoluationary War veteran from Virginia who settled in Maury
County. The Waymans' son was born several years after their marriage
and Willis was dead, so it seems there might have been some relation
or association. Does anyone know more about Francis Willis's family
and whether he had a Carr relative?
