In Jan 1875 Isaac Benson (Major Benson) adopted Charles E. and changed his name to Edgar Benson. Then Major Benson lost his money and has not helped to support Charles or Edgar. Mrs. E.F. Isley left Monroe Co. in 1881 and now lives (1884) in Knoxville with her son, and Edgar is her grandson.
