Obituary of
Mattie Fort
Nov. 25, 1983

Mattie William Fort,86, of 55 Union St. died Sunday at her residence after an extended illness.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Sykes Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Duane Harvey officiating. Burial will be in the Fort Cemetery in the Shady Grove Community.

She was a saleswoman and a member of the Shady Grove Free Will Baptist Church.

A native of Montgomery County, she was born Aug. 3, 1897, to Marion Monroe and Mollie Binkley Williams. She was preceded in death by her husband William Robert Fort who died Jan 31, 1957.

Survivors include four sons, Garner Fort, Abilene, Texas, Dancey and Jack Fort, both of Clarkville, and Robert Fort, Tampa, Fla.; a daughter, Frances Anthony, Adams; 15 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild

Grandsons will, serve as pallbearers.
