Stanton Allen
Oct. 26, 1983
Staton Allen, 95, a former resident of 110 Walnut St., died Wednesday at General Care Convalescent Center. The funeral will be at 2p.m. today at McReynolds-Nave Chapel with the Rev. Bruce Coleman officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
Visitation began Thursday at the funeral home.
Allen was born Aug. 21, 1888, in Montgomery County, son of Waller Allen and Clarinda Powell Allen, His wife, Annie Mae Blankenship Allen, died Dec. 14, 1973. Allen was retired from Victory Cleaners. He was a member of New Providence Baptist Church and a former deacon at the church.
Survivors include two sons, Richard Earl Allen and Paul Edward Allen, both of Clarksville; and six grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Horace Allen, David Allen, Cordon Allen, Elvin Atkins, Steve Purviance and Perry A. Watson.
Honorary pallbearers will be deacons of New Providence Baptist Church.
