Thursday at Fort Campbell
Army Hospital. He was a resident of 113 Airport Road and retired from
the U.S.
Army.

Mr. Hughes was a member of St. John's Methodist Church in Charlotte, N.C., and a member of the American Legion.
<> Services will be at
11 a.m. Monday at McReynolds-Nave Chapel
with the Rev. William Warmath officiating. Burial will follow at
Ft. Donelson
National Cemetery in Dover with full military honors.
<><>Mr. Hughes was born in
Wilmington, N.C., on Sept. 29, 1929,
. the son of Anna Shipley Hughes and the late Colie Laverne Hughes Sr.
<><>In addition to his mother, he is
survived by his wife, Hilda
Long Hughes of Clarksville: three sons, Coke L. Hughes Ill of Mt.
Holly, N.C.,
and Greg S. Hughes and Mark A. Hughes, both of Clarksville: one
brother,
Raymond Hughes of Charlotte, N.C.: and three sisters, Delores
Carter of
Richmond, Va., Betty Thomason of Houston, Texas, and Colleen Chappell
of
Albany, Ga.
Pallbearers will be James C. Krepps Jr., William Lumpkin, Robert Christoffer Sr., Wilford Colon Jr.. Joseph Belson and Cecil Ferrell.
