My gg grandfather Albert Wettstein married Carey Gaisser inClarksville in 1881. He died in Clarksville in 1923. Their children:Carey, Albert, Lillie, Louie or Bates and Violet. Carey Gaisser washis second wife. His first wife, Pamela Alice Clearwater Wettstein,died in Clarksville in 1879. Albert and Pamela had 5 children;Elisabeth, Anna, Herman, Emil and Robert. Dora DENTON; W.O. or Ozious COLLINS; Mary Ravell COLLINS m. Clarence WALKER; Anice Aslee COLLINS m. Lurton BARBEE; Clara Annie COLLINS m. Howard CRUTCHER. Erchell Collins is my g-grandfather he died in 1920 or 1921 in Alabama from a work related injury. Dora his wife later moved to Knoxville, TN where she remarried a man by the last name of Brown. She and Erchell had five children together. Also, looking for information on the DENTON AND MCCUEN families from Clarksville. Charlie DENTON m. Martha Jane MCCUEN. All of the children from this marriage is unknown except for Dora and Martha. Martha stayed in Clarksville and took care of Martha during her older years.

In the Mont. Co NC page Laquita states that Nancy HOWARD married Nathaniel EDWARDS, and moved to Carroll Co TN. I'm looking for Nancy Howard, dau of Wm Howard last of Mont. Co NC, 1815, whose Howard relatives moved to Wilson Co TN. Nancy was married prior to 1815. When, where did Nancy HOWARD marry Nath. EDWARDS? Who was bondsman? Other particulars. Did they live in Carrol Co. Was parent of Nancy mentioned.

My grandfather Ewing Elliott b.1904 grew up in Clarksville. He married Hattie Mae Frye (sp?) in 1929. Ewing and Hattie Mae moved to Nashville. Ewing worked for American General for many years. Upon retirement he opened a frame shop in his basement. Ewin g and Hattie Mae were members of the Dalewood Methodist Church in Nashville, TN. Ewing's father's name was Alva Elliott b. approx.1880. Ewing also had a brother Daisy Elliott who was about his same age. Any information/stories about Alva's lineage would be apppreciated.

I'm looking for information on the parents and siblings of Silas H WOODSON b. 1830) and his wife Theressa A. HOOPER (b. 1838). They were married 10 Sept 1856 in Montgomery Co., TN. The 1860 Montgomery Co. Census shows hem with these children (both girls ): Indiana (b. 1858) and D. E. (b. 1859 or 60--age 6 m.). Indiana later married William James HOLLIS and lived in Cheatham Co., TN. If anyone has info on this family, I'd greatly appreciate hearing from them!

I am researching the GRIFFIN surname specifically the ancestors of William Riley GRIFFIN and Alice PEGRAM. Both were born in Montgomery Co., William R.(born l866) and Alice(born in l87l). Their marriage date is unknown. William and Alice later moved to McCracken Co., Kentucky around l900. They had ten children Woodrow, Ernest, Homer, William Roy, Mary, Corrine, Alma, J. WALTERS(WATERS), FORD. My search is for the true parents of CHARLES WALTERS b.14 Jan. 1823 Montgomery Co., Tenn. He marr. NANCY FORD b.ca 1825 Tenn. (parents also unknown). Their children: William Henry m. Sarah Edwards, Ellander Tabitha m. James Allen Kinsall, James A. m. Minnie Orr, Asa Milton m. Mary Edwards, Georgia Anna m. Hiram G. Kinsall, and Charles Walters Jr. died young. All chilren born in Montgomery Co. This family lived in the Palmyra community. Charles & Nancy migrated to Gallatin Co., Ill. in 1861. I've been told Chas. Walters parents are Anderson & Eliz.(Joyner) Walters, but i strongly feel that maybe Asa and Tabitha Walters of Pittsylvania Co., Va. are the true parents. Chas. Walters d.3 Sept. 1871 Omaha, Gallatin Co., Ill. Nancy (Ford) Walters d. ? Both are buried in Palestine #1 cem. in Omaha, Gallatin Co., Ill. I am searching for both sets of parents for Chas. HENRY CLAY PATTEN b. ? d. 1917 was a prominent land-owner in the area of the Forest Hill community in Montgomery Co. Tn He married in the year 1867,Cordelia Ann Merrifield b.1843 d.1906, daughter of Davis Merrifield b.1798 d.?, and Lucy Ann Gregory b.1814 d.? It was told to me that Henry Clay Patten was buried at the Grant Cemetary on the Coppage Farm. Their daughter, my great grandmother was Araminta(MINTA) Patten b.7/14/1870 d.1/19/1960 who married WS (Sam) Gray, a blacksmith. They were married in 1890 at the Forest Hill Christian Church by the Rev Willie Grant. They resided in Sadlersville until moving in 1894 to Guthrie, KY until their deaths. Does anyone have information on any of the above mentioned people or places?

Possibly born in Maryland, Benjamin Thomas lived in Anson County, (later Richmond) NC. He moved to Marlborough County, SC. In 1784, he received a land grant for service in the NC Line. Situated on the East Fork of Lick (later Budd's) Creek, this land was located in what became Montgomery County, TN. Benjamin removed to TN in 1796 where he was Capt. in the First County Militia. He bought more land along Budd and Yellow Creek before moving to Hickman County prior to 1820. I also have information on Benjamin's relatives that lived nearby. I Wonder what eventually happened to Benjamin Thomas, and I am also seeking the names of his descendents.
