Florence BEAUMONT married Edward H. BRITTAN on 26 June 1865 in
Montgomery County TN according to Sistler's Early Middle TN
Marriages, Vol. 2 1988, p.36. Florence and her brother, E.H.
BEAUMONT, were at the Port Royal, Montgomery County, home of Henry F.
BEAUMONT and his wife Sarah G. Anderson BEAUMONT on the night of the
1860 Census. Can someone tell me if it is possible to obtain any
documents relating to the marriage of Florence BEAUMONT and Edward
BRITTAN in order to try to clarify whether Florence was a daughter,
grand daughter or niece of Henry F. and Sarah. I live in Australia
and am not familiar with what documents are available in TN.
A copy of the documents relating to this marriage might explain the
parentage of Florence.

I believe that there should be a JOHNSON family cemetary in the
Clarksville area. I believe that I am interested in Alexander the
son of the JOHNSON who was a senator in Nashville. I am hoping that
there are also TERRY's in this cemetary also. Do you know of anyone
who might have additional information about cemetaries. This is not
listed in the two or three cemetary books done a while ago.
Thanks

I am trying to determine if Emiline, married to Elisha ROSE on the
1850 Montgomery Co, TN census was the daughter of Eaton POWELL and
Holly ADAMS. Eaton and Holly moved from Halifax Co, NC to Montgomery
Co, TN in 1815. On the 1820 census they are listed as having two sons
and one daughter below the age of 10. The two sons were Benjamin
Eaton POWELL and William C. POWELL. What was the name of their
daughter? Elisha ROSE was included in a petition for a division of a
Warren POWELL's estate in 1851. They had some kind of relationship to
a POWELL family and I want to know if it was through Emiline and if
Eaton POWELL was her father. Eaton had a second marriage after Holly
died to a Mary CAUSEY and they had 8 children which I have the names

Yesterday C-Span had a program on James K. Polk, the 11th president
of the U.S. who was raised in Columbia and died in Nashville of
cholera less than four months after leaving the presidency. He noted
in his journal in late May of 1849, only a few weeks prior to his
death that there was a bad cholera epidemic. The narrator stated
that
cholera victims were not allowed to be buried inside Nashville and
had to be buried outside. Polk was subsequently disinterred and
reburied in Nashville.
My gggrandmother Fannie Orr Kemp died of cholera in Clarksville
around 1845. Does anyone know if there was a "cholera" cemetery
there
as well and if any records were kept of the victims and where the
burials might have been? Her family was from Russellville, KY but
she
was not buried in any of the family cemeteries up there. Any
information concerning burial places for cholera victims in or
around
Clarksville for that period of time would be very much appreciated.
