2. Prominent lawyer in C’ville

3. Hero of Mexican War under Gen Trousdale (later Gov Trousdale) Served in same brigàder as Stonewall Jackson

4. Humphreys Co. is named for his father PARRY WAYNE HUMPHREYS (who also was a lawyer here.   His homeplace was the site where APSU’s Dunn Center now sits)

5. Robert West Humphreys married a sister to Win Douglas Meriwether (of Woodstock) . . . another sister was Carol  Meriwether Goodlet, the founder of United Daughters of Confederacy.
