Civil War Soldier
John C. Byrd, born 1815 in Tennessee married Elizabeth Herring,
daughter of Spirus Herring. He enlisted in Company A, 50th Tennessee
Infantry and was captured at Fort Donelson. After he was exchanged he
started back home and died on the way. Source- History of
