Came to Nashville in 1784 and purchased land on the same day as Anthony, his brother. He moved later to Montgomery Co., Tenn. He was scalped by the Indians and left with a knife sticking in his back on Blooming Grove Creek west of Clarksville. He recovered from this experience.
