LAND SALE BETWEEN
L. A. MATHIS AND M. O. MATHIS
SEPTEMBER 11, 1911
This agreement entered into bewteen L.A. Mathis & M.O. Mathis on 11th dayL.A. Mathis
of Sept 1911- to "wit" that L.A. Mathis & M.O. Mathis- bought a tract of
land from Chas. F. Heidel, know as a part of the P. L. Mathis homestead and
formerly owned by M.O. Mathis and whereas L.A. Mathis paid the sum of one
hundred dollars ($100.00) on said tract of land and it is agreed that the
deed to said tract of land be retained by L.A. Mathis untill M.O. Mathis
pays the sum of one hundred dollars ($100.00) to L.A. Mathis and it is
agreed that on payment of the one hundred dollars $100.00 that L.A. Mathis
is to make over said deed to M.O. Mathis and relinquish all claim to said
tract of land.
***L.A. Mathis was my great-great grandmother, Louisa Ann LAYMANCE Cross Mathis
M.O. Mathis was her son, Marshall Oscar Mathis
P.L. Mathis was Lousa's husband Peter L. Mathis
Chas. F. Heidel was Louisa's son-in-law, husband of
Amanda "Mandy" Ragina MATHIS Heidel.
This paper was given to me by the grandson of Marshall Mathis, William "Sonny" Mathis of Mossy Grove.
