Dear Teacher and loyal friend,
Thoust hast answered the last roll call;
God had called you to your home above,
Ever faithful and with high emprize;
Full more than fifyty years you have
lived amongst us,
Coming to Tennessee a bride, with
that equally honored mate;
Loving all children as if they were
your own,
Teaching them the paths of
righteousness,
Along with the three R's.
The honored son and daughter
whom you raised
And the ever faithful girls with
whom you passed.
The last years of your calm and
ripened life,
Many will rise up in these hills you
loved so well,
To call you blest, may you rest in peace,
"The good we do lives after us."
Our world is better for you having
dwelt among us.
