EASTER, SAN Ok "TAMMY" age 61, a resident of Oakdale, TN died Wednesday, April 1, 2009 at Roane Medical Center in Harriman.  Mrs. Easter was born December 30, 1947 in Seoul, Korea. Following her marriage in 1973, she and her husband G.K. moved to the United States. They lived in South Carolina, Arizona, New Hampshire and New Mexico before the final move to Tennessee in 1994. She was a homemaker, a loving wife, mother, grandmother and a member of the 1st Korean Baptist Church. Mrs. Easter was preceded in death by her parents Tea Woon Kim and Yu Sun Ki, by a brother Won Mook Kim, and by a son Richard Eugene Easter. Tammy is survived by her husband G.K. Easter of Oakdale, by a son David E. Easter of Oakdale, by a step-son Edward Hester of Rockwood, by three grandchildren; Salethia Easter of Hinsdale, New Hampshire, London Easter of Rockwood, and John Paul Fraley of Bridgeport, Connecticut, and by a ½ brother Choon Ja Wang of San Francisco, CA. EASTHAM, RAYMOND M., born June 21, 1926 in Lancing, passed away May 26, 2005 in Briarcliff Healthcare Center in Oak Ridge. Mr. Eastham was an active member of several Baptist churches and served as the Minister of Music for approximately 37 years. He was an avid outdoorsman and had a special place in his heart for nature. He was well known for his wonderful and contagious smile. He was preceded in death by one brother, Alvin Eastham; and one sister, Betty Ann Sexton. He is survived by his wife, Juanita Pittman Eastham; children, Bobby Ray Eastham and wife Glenda, Danny Keith Eastham and wife Holly and Jeana Lynn Crews and husband Ricky; seven grandchildren, Shawn Crews of Cleveland, Tenn., Barrett Eastham of Huntsville, Ala., Angela Crews of Cleveland, Danelle Ralph of San Jose, Calif., Jennifer Jones of Wartburg, Nathan Crews of Cleveland and Craig Koehler of Knoxville; three great-grandchildren, Brandon Crews, Blake Jones and Slade Crews; sisters, Florine Heidle of Wartburg, Julia Copeland of Rockwood and Brenda Jenkins of Maiden, N.C.; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and family. EASTON, MRS. LOTTIE REED, aged 70, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Frank Duell, at Canton Tuesday afternoon. Mrs. Easton, a former West Lafayette  resident, is survived by one daughter and the following brothers and sisters - Ira Reed of Canton, Hiltz Reed of West Lafayette, Lemuel Reed of Oakdale, Tenn., Mrs. Frank Lacey of Canton, Mrs. A. J. Simmons of  Oakdale, Tenn., Mrs. P.C. Davis and Mrs. H.K. Knopf, both of Los Angeles, Calf. and four grandchildren.Funeral services will be held Thursday  afternoon at 1 o'clock in Canton. Burial will be made in the West Lafayette cemetery. The remains may be viewed at the grave.

EASTRIDGE,  CHARLES E., DR.,  77,  a native of Oakdale, Tn., died in Memphis, Tn.  Services were held March 25, 1998 in Memphis, with burial in the Midway Cemetery. EASTRIDGE, KEITH - 80, a resident of Coalfield, passed away Tues., Aug. 22, 2000 at his home in Coalfield. Mr. Eastridge was preceded in death by hisparents, Charles H. Eastridge and Lucy Russell Eastridge; by a son in law, Chip Woods; by two brothers, Eugene Eastridge, and Reid Eastridge; and by a sister, Alma Propes. EASTRIDGE, PATRICIA LOUISE "PAT" - age 64, a resident of Coalfield, passed away Monday, June 20, 2005 at her residence. She was born August 3, 1940 in the Fork Mountain Community of New River, living her entire life in Coalfield. Pat was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Coalfield, where she was very involved in various church functions, including serving the church as a Sunday School Leader, active participation in Vacation Bible School, organizing the "Living Christmas Tree" program, and a member of the Adult Church choir. She was a 1958 graduate of Coalfield High School and in 1960, she graduated from Draughns Business College of Knoxville. Pat began her career in banking as a teller at the Union Peoples Bank of Oliver Springs. As time passed Pat advanced her career and later became the branch manager for First American Bank, and AMSouth Bank Tri-County branch until her retirement in 1997. A project considered special and held dear to her heart was the care and maintenance of the Estes Cemetery in Coalfield. She was preceded in death by: her parents, Eugene & Maxine Patrick Eastridge; by a brother, Harold Eastridge; and by a brother-in-law, Paul Garrison. EASTRIDGE, VERA BOSHEARS,  80, of Coalfield, died Wednesday, Jan. 7, 1998, She was born in Coalfield on Aug. 21, 1917, the daughter of Franklin Boshears and Lillie Ruffner Boshears. She was the widow of Reid H. Eastridge.  Mrs. Eastridge is survived by two daughters, Shelby Adcock and her husband, Paul,and Jackie Goodman and her husband, Ralph,  a son, Gary Eastridge, and two sisters, Virgie Foster and Frankie Boshears. She is also survived  by seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren.

EBLE, CHRISTINE (DINK) HOBBS, 74, Hixon, Tenn., passed away March 27, 2002.  She was born July 8m, 1927 and raised in Petros.  She and her husband Hershel made their home in Hixon, (Dink) Christine passed away in South Carolina near her daughter Debbie Banks.  She was buried alongside of her husband Hershel in Hixon.  She is survived by son Douglas of Kentucky; daughter Debbie Banks and husband Rick of South Carolina; brother Bill Hobbs and wife Barbaa of Petros; sister Patsey Parker of Alabama; and brother David Hobbs and wife Virginia of San Diego, Calif.  Funeral service was held in Chattnaooga Funeral Home with Mark Carr officiating.  Chattanooga Funeral Home was in charge of services.  [Morgan County News]


EBLE,   IDA MAE - age 94, of Harriman, formerly of Oakdale, passed away Friday, October 2, 1998, at Royal Care of Harriman. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Eble; sons, Ira Eble and James Eble; nine brothers and sisters. Mrs. Eble was the oldest member of Piney Baptist Church where she had been a member since 1921. She was a member of the order of Eastern Star, Laurel Chapter 22. She us survived by one son, Walter (Arlo) Eble and his wife, Doris Ann of Oakdale, two daughters-in-law, Shirley Eble of Oakdale, and Dee Eble of California; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. EBLE,  JAMES HOLLIS, SR. - age 75, of Oakdale, passed away Thursday evening, October 8, 1998, at the Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. He was the oldest son of the late John H. Eble and Ollie McGill Eble. He was a graduate of Oakdale High School and Tennessee Technological University. He was a Veteran of World War II in the 752nd Engineers. He was a teacher and coach at Oakdale School for 30 years, where he coached football, boys and girls basketball, baseball and elementary boys and girls basketball. He was a member of the Oakdale United Methodist Church and served on the Wolfe Branch Utility
Water Board. In 1990, he was inducted into the East Tennessee Chapter of the National Football Foundation and Hall of Fame. Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Bessie Headrick Eble; son, Dr. Jay Eble and his wife, Linda Mathis Eble of Harriman; daughter, Edie Eble Parker and her husband, Craig Parker of Harriman; two grandchildren, Emily and Jason Eble of Harriman; three brothers, Lee Eble of Kingston, Johnny Eble of Oakdale, and Jack Eble of Harriman; three sisters, Imogene Johnson of Oakdale, Ena Peavyhouse of Harriman, and Armenda Wright of Nashville; and several nieces and nephews. EBLE, MR. JOHNNY WILLIAM, age 75 of Oakdale, was called to be with the Lord Wednesday, April 20, 2005. Mr. Eble was born April 3, 1930 and was a lifelong resident of this area. He served in the U.S. Army from 1951-1953. Before his retirement, he was employed by Southern Railway for 30 years. He was a member of Piney Baptist Church of Oakdale. He was preceded in death by: his mother, Ollie Eble; father, John Honce Eble; brothers, Hollis Eble and Jackie Eble; sister, Armena Wright. She was a member of the New Fairview Baptist Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. Before her retirement she worked for 33 years at Burlington Hosiery Mill and Roane Hosiery. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Edwards, by parents, Roscoe and Minnie Coker Reynolds, by sons, Floyd and Billy Lee Edwards, by a daughter, Glenda Sue Edwards, by a son in law, Harvie Mayton, by a granddaughter, Evelyn Lucille Edwards, by a grandson, James Rodney Edwards, by sisters; Lucille Cox, Nadine Jewett and Ermalee Cromwell, and by brothers; Floyd, Bill, Joe, Earl and Tollie Reynolds. EDWARDS, STELLA PHILLIPS, 84, of Sunbright died Monday afternoon, May 14, in Scott County Hospital.  Surviving are two brothers, Oren Phillips and Edward Phillips, both of Cincinnati, Ohio.  Several nieces and nephews also survive.  Funeral service will be held today (Thursday) at 11:00 a.m. at Schubert Funeral Home Chapel, Sunbright, with the Rev. ENGLAND, VELVA, 80, of Sunbright, passed away Thursday, Jan. 24, 2008, at her home after a lengthy and valiant battle with cancer. She was surrounded by family members who loved her dearly, admired her courage and strength, and were privileged, with the help of Caris Hospice, to care for her at home until her passing. She was a lifelong homemaker and member of Byrd Baptist Church, who put her family first and herself last. She provided loving care to her husband of 54 years, Estel England, who preceded her in death; as did her mother and father, Roy and Edith Daniel; brother, Leroy Daniel; and sister, Clara Jean Daniel. ERICKSON, CLAY EDWARD, 61, former Postmaster in Harrogate, passed away Jan. 22, 2003 in Ft. Sanders Regional Hospital.  Clay was a retired postmaster and was with the U.S. Postal Service for 36 years. He was postmaster in Harrogate from 1981 to 2000.  He was happily married for 32 years and was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and friend.  He leaves to mourn his passing loving wife,  Brenda Erickson; daughter Pamela Gaylor; sons John Erickson and wife Connie, Clay Edward Erickson Jr.,  and Donald Erickson and wife Julie; mother May Erickson; sisters Rena Danzer, Mary Koonz and Lorraine George; brother Ralph Erickson; seven grandchildren; sister-in-law Carol Vann and many very special friends and family members.  A memorial service was held Sat. ERICKSON, JUANITA PITTMAN EASTHAM, 79, of Kingston, formerly of the Mossy Grove community, died Thursday, Dec. 28, 2006, in Parkwest Medical Center, Knoxville. Born April 17, 1927, in the Gobey community of Morgan County, she was an active member of several Baptist churches and served as youth leader and in the women's ministry for most of her life. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Raymond Eastham; parents, Gib and Pearl Tilson Pittman; and sister, Carolyn Goodman. Survivors include her husband, Edgar Erickson; sons and daughters-in-law, Bobby Ray and Glenda Eastham and Danny Keith and Holly Eastham; daughter and son-in-law, Jeana Lynn and Ricky Crews; grandchildren, Shawn Crews, Angela Crews and Nathan Crews, all of Cleveland, Barrett Eastham, of Athens, Ala., Danelle Ralph of Cary, N.C., Jennifer Jones of Wartburg and Craig Koehler of Knoxville; great-grandchildren, Brandon Crews, Blake Jones, Slade Crews and Caleb Crews; brothers; Harold Pittman of Wartburg and Kenneth Pittman of Jamestown; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and family. ERICKSON, MAE, age 92, of Wartburg passed away Wednesday, October 6, 2004 at Roane Medical Center in Harriman. She was a life-long resident of Morgan County. She was the daughter of the late Rufus B. and Laura Honeycutt. She was also preceded in death by her son Clay Erickson who passed away last year. EVANS, BRENDA LLOYD, 57, of Clinton, and formerly of Wartburg, died Thursday, April 17, 2003, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.  Mrs. Evans was a 25-year member of the Order of Eastern Star and a member of Black Oak Baptist Church.  She enjoyed many hobbies such as arts and crafts, sewing and cooking. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ella and Paul Lloyd, a brother, James E. Lloyd, two brothers-in-law, James E. Carender and Bertis Neal, her father-in-law, Bob Evans and her grandfather, Gray Whitus. He was born in Castalia, Oh., to Charles and Velma Evans who both preceded him in death.Mr. Evans was a veteran of World War II, a licensed electrician, and with a BS degree in education, he taught for 39 years. EVERETT, MRS. NELLIE COFFEY HENDRIX, age 80 of Harriman passed away Thursday August 12, 2010 at Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge. She was preceded in death by her husband: Donnie Everett. Her parents: Lawrence and Essie Coffey. Five brothers: Vance, David, Frank, Leonard and Larry. And two sisters: Ruby and Helen. She is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law: Robert and Diane Hendrix of Oakdale and Ronald Hendrix of Harriman. Two sisters: Wanda Abston of Oakdale and Linda Kilby of Harriman. Six grandchildren: Miranda and her husband Wes, Randi, Robin and her husband James, Rhonda and her husband Keith, Savannah and Conner. Five great grandchildren: Christopher, Rose, Nathan, Trenton and Trenton. And a host of nieces, nephews and other family friends and loved ones.The family will receive friends Saturday August 14, 2010 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Davis Funeral Home, Harriman. Funeral services will follow at 8:00 PM with Rev. Tommy Kilby officiating. Graveside services will be Sunday afternoon at 2:00 PM in the Crab Orchard Cemetery in Oakdale. [Davis Funeral Home]
