passed away Thursday, Feb. 15, 2007 in Life Care of Morgan County.
Elaine was one of the first four to start at Orville Redenbouker
Popcorn factory in Valporasis, Ind. She retired after 20 years. She
loved to travel and visit friends. She has been to all states except
Alaska. She was preceded in death by father, Evert Davis; mother, Hulda
White; brothers, Jack, Gene, Fenton and Nyle Davis; and son, Thomas
Wilson. She is survived by brother, Owen Davis of Indiana; son, Paul E.
Ledbetter of North Carolina, Oliver L. Lacy III of Indiana; daughter,
Nylayne Vendola of Deer Lodge; grandson, Thomas Wilson; granddaughters,
Sabrina, Nichola, Jessica and Theasha; great-grandson, Kristepher,
Tony, Teddy and Trey; great-granddaughter, Ashly, Loriann, BreeAnn. In

LAND, MELBA I. McKEETHAN - age 90, a former resident of Oliver Springs,
passed away Tuesday, August 16, 2005 at the NHC Healthcare Center in Oak
Ridge. She was born November 21, 1914 in Sunbright. She married Arlin E.
Land of Sunbright at the age of eighteen in Wartburg, on October 7,
1933. She and Mr. Land moved to Danville, Kentucky and lived there for
many years before moving back to Oliver Springs in 1998. She was a
member of Beech Park Baptist Church. While living in Kentucky, she was
an active member of First Baptist Church of Danville for forty-one
years. She loved serving as a Sunday School teacher for the two-year old
class, and participating in many of the church activities. She was also
a member of the Oliver Springs Chapter of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Land
was employed for several years at Spoonamore Boyle Pharmacy. After
leaving the Pharmacy, she worked at the Hub Frankel Department Store.
She worked for Mr. J. N. Frankel, Sr., and continued working there for
three generations of Frankels. She worked in the boy's department for
many years. In 1966, she became a Buyer for Hub Frankel Department
Store, working all departments at Hub for forty-two faithful years,
retiring in 1989, and moving back to Oliver Springs to be with her
family. She worked for Watsons Department Store and Peebles until a fall
disabled her. She loved her work, enjoyed traveling and working with the
youth. She appreciated her caregivers and made friends with everyone she
came in contact with, and was a true friend to many. Preceded in death
by: husband, Arlin E. Land; parents, Emmeth and Maude Griffith
McKeethan; brothers, Forrest & Jack D. McKeethan. Survivors: sisters,
Julia Davis & husband, James of Oliver Springs, Betty J. Murphy &
husband, Cecil of Kingston, Barbara Keller of Kettering, Ohio; many
special nieces, nephews and a host of friends. She will be sadly missed
by her family and many friends. The family will receive friends

LAND, MRS. RACHEL E., age 78
of Oakdale, died suddenly, Wednesday evening, April 4, 2007. She was a
member of the South Harriman Baptist Church. She was employed by Morgan
County Life Center for years. She was preceded in death by her husband,
Conrad Land; Parents: Rev. and Mrs. David Burris; son-in-law: Colbert
Rice; sister; Jewel Duncan; and brother: Paul Burris. She is survived
by her Daughter: Deborah Rice of Oliver Springs; Son and
daughter-in-law: James and Cheryl Land of Oakdale; Grandchildren: Shilo

LANDRUM, ELDA JUNE, 64, passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2005 in her home
in Lancing. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Landrum;
parents, Jessie James and Jewanna Eloise Carroll Morgan; sisters, Josie
Morgan, Susie Asher and Ruby Morgan; granddaughter, Rhonda West; and
sister-in-law, Hattie Landrum. She is survived by her children, Larry
Landrum and wife Linda, Eva West and husband Andy, Gail Swint and

Landrum and husband Bob Gee and Sharon Byrd and husband Roscoe, all of

LANDRUM, LOUIS LEE, 83, Lancing, passed away on Monday, May 8, 2006 in
UT Medical Center. He was a member of Elizabeth Baptist Church and the
Wartburg Masonic Lodge #377. Louis served in the United States Army in
the Pacific during WWII. He received the WWII Victory Ribbon, Good
Conduct Medal, American Theater Ribbon, Asian Pacific Theater Ribbon and
two Bronze Service Stars. He was preceded in death by first wife, June
Garrett Landrum; parents, Louis Sherman Landrum and Leaney Griffith

Okla. She was born Sept. 21, 1918 in Lancing to Barry and Ethel Barnes
Norman. She was married to William Anderson Landrum, Oct. 31, 1935
at Elizabeth, Tenn. The previously lived in Clarkrange, Robbins, Sunbright,
Deer Lodge and Wartburg and Oregon. Preceded by parents; daughter,
Carolyn; son Ronnie; brother, Fred; infant sister, Josephine; and two grandchildren,

of the Rugby
community, passed away Wednesday, May 30, 2007 at the Jamestown
Regional Medical Center. He was preceded in death by his
parents, Andrew J. and Clara (Dixon) Lankford; grandparents, Sam and
Pareld S. (Innis) Dixon; son, Freddy Charles Lankford and special
friend, Delous Morgan. Mr. Lankford is survived by his wife,

He was born in Hamilton, Ind. in 1912. Survived by wife Anna
Langley, wife of 60 years, who he married in June 7, 1934 in Taft, Fla.

Pa., Lynda Wilson of Deer Lodge; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren

LANGLEY, ANNA REBECCA, age 91
of Deer Lodge, TN, formerly of Bradford, PA, passed away on October 13,
2006 in the Life Care Center of Morgan County. Anna was a homemaker and
a member of the Meister Hills Seventh-Day Adventis Church. She was
preceded in death by her husband: Albert W. Langley, Daughter: Annabell
Cake and an infant great-granddaughter. Two sons survive her: Thomas W.
Langley of Kingsland, TX and Donald A. Langley of Deer Lodge, TN; Six
granddaughters, five grandsons, eighteen great-grandchildren, Sister:
Mary Edenfield, Lula Mae Mercia and Ruth Shrode, Brother: Bruce Mole.

BAALAM HAROLD, 78, Byrdstown, TN., died Nov. 13, 2003 in the Cookeville
Regional Hospital. He was born in Lancing on March 17, 1925 to the
late Baalam Jackson and Pashent Smith Langley. He was a machinist
and a U.S. Navy Veteran of WW II. He was preceded in death by two
sons, Michael Langley and Harold Langley, Jr.; and a daughter Barbara Craig.
He is survived by his wife, Alma Griffith Langley of Byrdstown; sons, Richard
Langley of Morgan County, David Langley of Charlotte, n.C., Donnie Langley
of Concord, N.C., Daniel Langley or N.C. and Steve Langley of N.C.; daughters,

August 1, l982. She was the daughter of James and Anne Stringfield Garrett.
Her brothers were Eligah and Elisha, Luther, Guy and Harry, who also preceded

LANGLEY, EDWIN M., 87, Wartburg, went to be with the Lord March 28, 2005
in Methodist Medical Center.
He came to know the Lord March 2004 while living at Life Care of
Wartburg. He loved fishing with a passion that made everyone watching
love it as much as he did! He was a Navy Veteran of World War II.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Allie Langley; sons,
Terry and David Langley; sisters, Geneva, Stella, Pearl and Leilla; and
brother, Ronald Langley.
He is survived by one brother, Guy Langley of Ohio; eight children,
daughter Mary Mae and husband Jerry Simpson, son Roy and wife Pud,
daughter Carolyn and husband Robie Foster, son Eddie and wife Peggy,
daughter Teresa and husband Lee Holiday, daughter Rebecca and husband
Mike Stringfield, son Darrell and son Brad Borum; and many grandchildren

LANGLEY, MARY BERNICE, or "Miss Tiny" as she was
known to people all over Morgan County and beyond, passed away June 9,
2005 in her home in Clinton. She was born May 28, 1921 in Petros and was
a life-long resident of Morgan County. She began her 40 year teaching
career at a one-room school in the Piney Community near Oakdale. Later
she taught CDC classes at Wartburg Elementary and then specialized in
Speech and Hearing, which she taught in all the county schools. She was
involved in Adult Education, teaching night classes for GED
certification and classes at the Morgan County Regional Prison for
illiterate inmates. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church
in Wartburg and the Senior Center. She served as an election official
for the past 60 years in Morgan County. She served on the Morgan County
Health Council. After her official retirement from teaching, she signed
on as a substitute teacher and remained active until her final illness.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Susie Langley; her
husband, Lawrence R. Langley; and sister, Juanita Miller. She is
survived by her sister, Nellie Shipwash and niece, Billie Lane of
Clinton; niece, Diane Pennington of Lexington, Ky.; nephews, Art Miller
of Clinton and Todd Miller of Powell; six grand-nieces and nephews and
their children who all hold their beloved "BeeCee" as a second mother
and grandmother; sisters-in-law, Marjorie Langley of Oakdale and Maxine
Langley of Chattanooga; brother-in-law, Gordon Langley of Ohio; several
other nieces and nephews; and Covenant Home Hospice care nurse Tamara
Wilson and special caregiver Glois Kay Rich are especially appreciated

LANGLEY, P. KAY, - of the Piney Community
of Oakdale, passed away Saturday, June 28, 2003 after a long battle with
cancer. Kay was a 1974 graduate with honors of Chattanooga's Baroness Erlanger
School of Nursing. She worked as a certified psychiatric nurse at Moccasin
Bend Hospital in Chattanooga. She also worked as nursing supervisor of
Ridgeview Clinic in Oak Ridge and nursing supervisor of Superior Home Health
in Morgan County. She was a lifelong member of Piney Baptist Church. Kay
loved spending time with young people, especially her nieces and nephews.
At Piney, she at one time worked with the Acteens. She was a dedicated
UT football fan, loved reading, watching Jeopardy and working crossword
puzzles. She was preceded in death by her father, Clarence E. Langley;
grandparents, Edgar and Dora Eble Langley and Rev. Mark and Delta Mayton
Scarbrough, all of Oakdale. She is survived by her mother, Jacqueline Scarbrough
Langley; sister and brother-in-law, Frieda and Bob Bennett; brother and
sister-in-law, Doug and Debbie Langley, all of Oakdale; sister and brother-in-law,
Sharon and Steve McBay of Harriman. In addition, she leaves behind her
very special nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, special cousins,
and many dear friends at Piney and at work. Kay fought her illness valiantly,
therefore the family wishes to extend special thanks to all the doctors
and nurses who attended to her during her sickness, especially the staff
at Lifecare Center of Morgan County who ministered to her at the end of
her struggle. She will lie in state at Piney Baptist Church on Monday,

Southern Railway employee of Route 3, Harriman, died at Harriman
Hospital here at 8:45 p.m. today. Mr. Langley suffered a heart attack
this morning as he prepared to attend church services at Oakdale
Baptist Church, of which he was a member. He was the father of Mrs.
Fletcher Sweet of Knoxville. Sweet is an assistant agriculture
editor with the University of Tennessee Agriculture Extension Service.

LANGLEY, WESLEY D., 47, of Green Cove Springs, Fla., passed away
Thursday, May 4, 2006. Born on May 9, 1958, in Wartburg, Tenn., he had
been a lifelong resident of the Green Cove Springs community.After eight
years of honorable service to his country in the United States Army, he
worked in the lawn service industry. Of the Baptist faith, he was a
member of Russell Baptist Church and enjoyed hunting, fishing and
spending time with his beloved family.Wesley was preceded in death by
his father, James Donald "Don" Langley Sr.; and brother, Ricky Langley.
He is survived by his loving mother, Sallie A. (Carl) Patria of Green

He was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Sunbright and was a veteran of

LAWSON, GAITHER DEAN, 63, Indiana, died Saturday,
September 29, 2001 at Ball Memorial Hospital. Gaither was born and raised
in Scott County. He worked as a coal miner and for construction and electric
companies before moving to Muncie in 1965. He retired from Irving Bros.
Stone & Gravel Co. in 1987. He was a member of the Baptist faith and
volunteer of Ball Memorial Hospital. He was an avid gardener, coupon clipper,
grocery shopper and camper. He loved to joke and laugh with his family
and friends. He was preceded in death by his great-granddaughter Atrianna;
his parents Frank and Julia Lawson of Robbins; and sister Ellen Brown Dunlap
of Macy, Ind. He is survived by his wife of 39 1/2 years Sue; and two daughters
Linda Cornett (husband Jason) and Loretta Sherwood (husband Kent), both
of Muncie. He was a very special "Grandpa" to Jason, Katrina, Joshua and

LEACH, EDWARD,
87, of Petros, died Thursday, Oct. 19, 2006, in Methodist Medical
Center, Oak Ridge.Born Jan. 21, 1919, in New Baden, Ill., he moved to
this area in early childhood and spent the remainder of his life in
Petros. He was a member of Black Diamond Masonic Lodge 625, Petros, for
more than 61 years and a member of United Mine Workers of America. An
area coal miner for 35 years, he was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War
II who was in charge of the gun crew, classified as a gunner's mate
second class, and received several medals and honorable citations,
including the European-African Medal, American and Asia Pacific Medal
and Good Conduct Medal. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marion
Leach; daughter, Eddie Sue Leach; parents, Henry and Marlina Bunch
Leach; brother, Charles Leach; and sisters, Ruby Oakes, Faye Wilson and

Georgetown, TN, went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 24, 2004 in Memorial
Hospital of Chattanooga. She was a graduate of Vanderbilt University and
was retired from the Chattanooga City School System. She was of the Baptist
faith. She was preceded in death by parents; Wayne and Dorothy Beck Loveless,
Sr., brothers; Robert Loveless and Wayne Loveless, Jr., Sister; Mary Jo
Taylor. She is survived by her husband, Robert E. LeCroy of Georgetown,
TN; Nieces, Deborah Loveless of Charlotte, NC and Lydia Thugut of Durham,
NC; Sister-In- Law; Syliva Loveless Carrigan, Oak Ridge, Tn. And many other

March 20, 2004 at her home in Lancing. She was a member of Shady Grove
Free Will and Independent Church. She was preceded in death by her
parents, Cleatus and Mae Colling and brother J. B. Collins. She is
survived by son, Michael and wife Laura Ledford; two grandchildren, Michael
and Allyson Ledford, all of Lancing and many aunts, uncles and special

LEDFORD, MAGGIE E., 77, Lancing, went to be with
the Lord early Thursday morning March 13, 2002 in the Life Care Cemter
of Morgan County. She was born July 12, 1926. Also a lifelong reside
of Morgan County. She was preceded in death by her husband Truman
Ledford; son Willard Lee Ledford; and brothers and sister, Lum, Tom, little
John and Jones Stringfield and Margie Williams. She is survived by
one brother Clarence Stringfield and wife Alberta of Lancing; three sisters

LEE, WILLIAM
CLARENCE, 87, of Lancing, TN, passed away April 18, 2003. Funeral
services were conducted April 20 at Schubert Funeral Home in Wartburg,
TN, with interment in Frankfort Church Cemetery. The Rev. Arthur Nance
Jr. officiated. Mr. Lee was an active member of Frankfort Community Church.
He enjoyed listening to gospel singing, especially the Oak Grove Quartet.
He was retired from the Morgan County Road Department where he operated
a road grader. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army. Survivors include
his wife of 64 years, Ruth Aytes Lee of Lancing; son, Ivan Lee of Covington,
GA; daughters and sons-in-law, Juanita Jean Lee and Dennis Adams of Crossville
and Marjorie Lee and Nolen Barnett of Lancing, TN; grandchildren, Eugene
Clarence Adams of Crossville, Krista Lammell, Amanda Cox and Samuel Lee,

away on Thursday, November 26, 1998 in The Methodist Medical Center of

Charles was born in Oakdale to Ralph and Bertie McGill Leopper. He was
retired from Y-12 plant Oak Ridge but had worked at K-25 plant for
several years. Charlie was preceded in death by his parents and

LHOTA, BILL SR., passed away at his home in Lancing on Friday, July 14,
2006. He was born on April 18, 1939 in Canton, Ohio, to George and
Katheryn Lhota, the first of seven children. He moved to Miami Shores
Florida after graduation from Central Catholic School in 1957 to live
with his beloved grandparents and mentors, Eugene and Katheryn Perdue.
In 1965 he earned his General Contractors license and built commercial
and residential structures in Ohio, Tennessee and South Florida over a
span of 41 years. He moved to Naples in 1989 where he and son William
Jr. ran Bluegrass Builders of Southwest Florida. Mr. Lhota loved and
played traditional bluegrass music, wrote and recorded songs about local
issues and was called the "Warbling Contractor" by the late, great WNOG
radio talk host, Rich King. He also loved restoring antique cars,
especially those of classic vintage. He is survived by his wife of 19
years, Paula (P.J.); sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald Lhota, David and
Janna Lhota, William Jr. and Karen Lhota; step-sons, Paul, Phillip and
Chris Murray; grandchildren, Willy, Samantha, Amanda, Cheyanne, Conner,
Leighanna and Luke; mother, Katheryn Lhota; siblings, Nancy Lycakis and
husband Nicholas, Patty Neault, Mary Catherine Habib and husband David,
Annie Chance and husband Bob, Joseph Lhota, Ken Lhota and wife Cindy;
aunts, Katherine and Francis; numerous cousins and nieces and nephews

June 22, 1931, in Devonia, she lived in Coalfield for 25 years before moving

and was employed at Roane Hosiery. She is survived by her daughter, Linda

away Wednesday, September 26, 2001 at the Lifecare Center of Morgan County.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lincoln Liles; daughter, Koleda
Silvey; son, Jr. (Junebug) Liles; grandson, Troy Everett Silvey. She is
survived by three loving daughters, Lida (Basil) Ward, Anna Mae Tucker,
Betty (B.J.) Wright, all of Petros; daughter in law, Barbara Liles of Holiday,
Fla.; son in law, Newt Selvey of Oliver Springs. She was a very loving
and special Mamaw to 17 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren and 13 great-great
grandchildren. She was a member of Petros Baptist Church. She as also known
by everyone in the community as "Mamaw". Before becoming disabled, she
was very active in church and community actives. She had a love for flowers
and loved to do crochet work which she gave as gifts to many people. She
was a very special person whose life revolved around her family, friends

LINDSAY, MARGARET ELIZABETH, 87, of Oakdale, died Thursday, Aug. 5, 2004 in
Roane Medical Center. She was born June 8, 1917. She was preceded in

Columbus, Ohio, died Sunday at Riverside Hospital, Columbus. Born Feb.
15, 1911, in Sunbright Tenn., he was the son of Marion and Linda

LIVELY, EVON MEREDITH, 59, of Coalfield, died
Wednesday, March 12, 2003, at Fort Sanders Parkwest Medical Center in Knoxville.
Born April 8, 1943, in Campbell County, she was the daughter of Beeler
Meredith and Ruby Wilson Meredith, both now deceased. She had lived in
Coalfield since early childhood. Before her illness, she worked at the
Oak Ridge Y-12 Plant. Mrs. Lively is survived by her husband, Benton Lively;
a daughter and her husband, Angela and Ralph Isham of Coalfield; a son
and his wife, Mitchell and Kimberly Lively of Oak Ridge; and three grandsons,
Cody Lively, Seth Isham and Silas Isham. She is also survived by her sister
and her husband and two brothers and their wives, Virgie and George Lowe,
and Mackie and Diane Meredith, all of Coalfield, and Hershel and Carol
Meredith of Marrow, Ga.; a sister-in-law, Norma Meredith of Coalfield;
and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded

Nov. 22, 2003, at his home. Born Oct. 12, 1928, in Anderson County, he
was the son of Luna Lively and Janie Hall Lively. Mr. Lively was a lifelong

CLEOPHUS - age 80 of Wartburg, went to be with the Lord
Monday, November 17, 2003 at the St. Mary's Residential Hospice House in
Knoxville, TN. He was born in Scott County to James Shafter and Marie Lloyd
on March 31, 1923. Cleophus was a World War II U.S. Navy Veteran and Korean
Conflict U.S. Navy Veteran serving from 1941-1951. He was a member
of Mossy Grove Baptist Church, Past Master of Emerald Lodge No. 377, member
of the Kerbela Temple, and was a Worthy Patron of the Eastern Star. Cleophus
was an avid fisherman and handcrafted his own fishing lures to use and
give away. His father, James Shafter Lloyd and sisters, Deola and Wanda
Lloyd, preceded him in death. He is survived by his mother, Marie Lloyd;
wife, Imogene Lloyd; sisters, Elva Roach and Reva Loy; daughters, Debbie
and husband, Jerry McCoy and daughter Shasta, Karen and husband, Jim Bible

LLOYD, JAMES E.--61, of Lancing, died Thursday,
December 31, 1992, in the Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge, after
a long illness. He was retired from Plateau Electric Cooperative
in 1980 after 33 years. He was a charter member of Calvary Baptist
Church in Wartburg, and served as a deacon. He enjoyed playing his
guitar for the Youth Choir. He was preceded in death by his parents
Paul and Ella Lloyd. Surviving are wife: June (Miller) Lloyd; three
sons and daughters-in-law: Howard and Joyce Lloyd of Mossey Grove, Jimmy
and Kim Lloyd of Armes Chapel, and Roger and Joy Lloyd of Clinton; and
one daughter and son-in-law: Darla and Steve Garrett of Lancing.
Also surviving are six grandchildren: Zachary, Adam, Lance, Tiffany, and
Isaiah Lloyd and Amy Meadors. Eight.sisters: Pauline Neal, Judy Simpson,
Patsy Shelton and Terri Morgan all of Wartburg; Brenda Evan of Clinton,

LLOYD, JAMES SHAFTER, 90, of
Wartburg died Wednesday,Feb. 1, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.
Mr.Lloyd was employed at Emory River Lumber Company many years and also
served as a deputy sheriff of Morgan County for eight years. A native
of Norma, Mr. Lloyd moved to Morgan County, in 1927 with his wife Marie
Sharp Lloyd, to whom he had been married for 67 years. Mr. Lloyd
was a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Wartburg and was an avid fisherman.
In addition to his wife, he is also survived by a son Cleophus Lloyd of
Wartburg; two daughters, Elva Heidstand and Reva Loy, both of Knoxville;
six grandchildren, Karen Bible of Spring City, Debora McCoy of Harriman,
Teresa Trail of Tullahoma, Pam White of Heiskell, Don Loy of Fort Myers,
Fla., Jimmie Loy of Deerfield, Fla.; two great grandchildren, Shasta McCoy

LLOYD, KERMIT NELSON age 64, of Elizabethtown,
Pa., died on Friday, May 22nd., 1998, at home after a brief illness.
Born in Lancing, Tennessee. He was the son of the late
Frank and Ester Williams Lloyd. Also preceding him in death was one brother,
Thurman Lloyd. Mr. Lloyd moved from Knoxville, Tennessee, to Lancaster
where he worked in the Boiler Packing Department. He retired in 1996 after
22 years of service. He was a member of the Glass, Molders, Pottery, Plastics,

Workers International Union, Local No. 287. An avid hunter
and fisherman, he belonged to the Blue Mountain Inn Hunting Camp in Mifflin

LLOYD, PAUL --84, died Monday evening, October
6,1986, at his home in Wartburg. He was the son of the late Elbert
and Parzita Lloyd. Preceded in death by his wife, Ella Douglas Lloyd,
surviving are eight daughters: Pauline Neal, Judy Simpson, Patsy Shelton
and Terry Morgan, all of Wartburg; Ruth Carender and Myrtle Terry, both
of Muncie, Indiana; Barbara Blu of Elgin, Illinois, and Brenda Evans of
Clinton; three sons: James Lloyd of Lancing, Don Lloyd of Radcliff, Kentucky,
and Milford D. Lloyd of Rockwood; 34 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren.
Also surviving are two sisters: Maudie Chambers of LaFollette and Odessa
Seiber of Burnside, Kentucky; and three brothers: Billy Lloyd of Burnside,

LLOYD, SAMIE, 86, of the Annadel community,
Lancing, Route 2, died Friday morning, January 12, 1990, in the Oak Ridge
Hospital. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church, and was preceded
in death by a son, Clarence Lloyd. Surviving are his wife, Betty
Marie York Lloyd; daughters: Florrell Hamby of Lancing and Loria Landrum
of Crossville; sons, Estel of Harriman, Louis and Paul, both of Lancing,
Ray of the U. S. Navy, Va., and Samie of Andersonville; 19 grandchildren
and several great grandchildren. a Sister, Delphia Wallen of Asheville,
NC, also survives. Funeral services were held Sunday at 1 p.m. at
the Schubert Funeral Home Chapel, Wartburg, with the Rev. Jim Phillips
officiating. Interment followed in the Elizabeth Cemetery with Schuberts

LOGAN, CLEO, 80 of Wartburg,
died Dec. 30, 1998. He was born in Overton Co., on April 16, 1918.
Preceded by wife Portie Clark Logan: daughters, Elfredda Staggs and Lucy
Linda Logan; son Clark Logan; grandson, Luther Logan Jr. and parents Kyle
and Gertie Garrett Logan, Survivors: sons, Luther Logan;daughter, Robin

LOGAN, LUTHER LYNN, 57, Chestnut Ridge Community,
passed away Sunday, Dec. 16, 2001 in the Methodist Medical Center in Oak
Ridge. He was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his son
Luther Lynn Logan, Jr.; sisters Elfredda Skaggs and Linda Logan; brother
Clark Logan; and parents Cleo and Portie Clark Logan. He is survived by
his wife of 36 years Fern Smith Logan; son Anthony and wife Melissa Logan;
granddaughter LaVonna Lynn Logan; sister Robin Hall, all of Chestnut Ridge;
and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. The family
received friends Tuesday evening, Dec. 18, 2001 from 6 to 8 p.m. in Schubert
Funeral Home, Wartburg. Funeral services began at 8 p.m. with Rev. Jim
Gruber officiating. A graveside service was held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in

LOGAN,
WILLIAM JERRY, 42, of Coalfield, died Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2003, at Methodist
Medical Center of Oak Ridge.
Born Oct. 2, 1960, in Jamestown, he was the son of Randell
Logan and Marsha Hayes Logan of Coalfield, by whom he is survived. He had
lived in Byrdstown for eight years and in Coalfield since 1972. A U.S.
Army veteran, he was an employee of the U.S. Postal Service and worked
at the Post Office in Alcoa and Oak Ridge. In addition to his parents,
Mr. Logan is survived by his wife, Marsha Webb Logan; his daughter, Amandi
Nichole Logan; his son, William Jerry "Jay" Logan, all of Coalfield; and
his brother, Gary Logan of Harriman.He is also survived by three sisters-in-law,
Peggy Ogburn and Linda Webb, both of California, and Betty Jones of Wartburg;
and three brothers-in-law, John Webb of Wartburg, Charles Webb of Burrville
and Douglas Webb of Georgia. He was preceded in death by his father- and
mother-in-law, Lum and Nancy Webb, and by two sisters-in-law and three
brothers-in-law, Nettie McGlinchey, Sue Taormina, Ricky Webb, Roger Webb
and James Webb. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 8, in the
chapel of Sharp Funeral Home in Oliver Springs with the Rev. Mack Smith
officiating. Burial will be at Estes Cemetery in Coalfield. The family
will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 7, at the funeral home.

of Coalfeld, died March 21, 2001 in Georgia. Born, June 27, 1915,
in Morgan County, she has live in Cleveland, Fa since 1989. Survivors:
Sybil Gerrels of Cleveland, Ga; two brothers ans sisters-in-law, Fletcher
and Edna Reynolds of Cincinatti, and Samy and Cleo Reynolds of Granite
Schoals, TX; two grandchildren and three great grandchildren; an aunt,
Grance Daughtery of Oak Ridge; sisters-in-law, Dolly Walker of Knoxville
